We are almost at the end of summer and hot weather which can run different emotions in different people. Autumn is my favourite season of all so i am a happy person. Cant wait to infuse my wardrobe with some fresh autumn appropriate pieces. Although i have been shopping quite a lot of indian wear, salwar suits and stuff for the coming weddings in my family and the line of festivals around this time of the year but i need to look at the high street stores/ online for day to day wear.
Todays look is one i shot in beautiful greece and works well for end of summer style inspo. Rocking a beautiful pair of embroidered shorts is not a bad idea before it becomes cold to have bare legs. These shorts are from Miway fashion a brand i discovered before my Greece trip and i have to say i loved ever piece i picked and wore. Perfect for effortless chic styles and moving with the fashion trends, a win win.
Black and white are always a winner and as i always say when you have a neutral outfit you have the opportunity to infuse many details. I wore a lace bodysuit top with my embroidered shorts and thought of having some fun with the hair.
What i wore- Shorts Miway fashion, Bodysuit- Asos, Sandals- Zara, Hair tie- Asos
Sorry guys for being away from the blog this month, Vaibhav was unwell and i couldn't focus on anything except getting his health back to perfect.
Hope this look helps you with any late summer holidays and if not holidays just to end summer with a bang.
Thank you for stopping by, see you with my next!

Shopping for occasion wear can be quite an intimidating task as we are usually not in the habit of shopping for them. It will be right to say that all of us can do with some help. A special occasion be it a cocktail party, a formal dinner, a meeting, a black tie event, prom, the races, a wedding function, etc. deserves a special outfit. In my opinion a special dress works best. I wouldn’t ask you to go all out and create a full wardrobe of occasion wear clothes if you only attend a few of such events in a year but i recommend that you keep a couple of pieces, pieces that fit you perfect and you feel great everytime you put them on.
When shopping for occasion wear dresses here are a few points to keep in mind.
- Go for more classic styles than trendy styles if you are only going to have a couple of pieces in your closet. Occasion wear is not cheap and you obviously want the dress to serve you for a few years so going classic is sensible.
- Stay away from prints. I have seen quite a few fab printed occasion wear dresses but prints don’t work for all occasions so its better to invest in solids.
- While colours look stunning i would suggest you stick to neutrals (black, white, nude, grey) , metallics (gold, silver, bronze, rose gold) and pastel shades of pink and blue or your favourite colour. The reason is neutrals, metallics and pastels are more versatile, wearable and work from events be it in the day or night. Having said that there is one other colour i would love to recommend, midnight blue, gorgeous gorgeous, works for any occasion and be it day or night.
- Go for detailing like textures and embellishments. Think lace, crochet, pearls, sequins, tulle etc.
- While a maxi can be a tad bit formal and a mini tad bit casual the midi is the perfect balance and works well for all ages.
- Although i wouldn't recommend splurging on something you only wear a couple of times a year, its worth spending a tad bit more on quality considering the occasions you will be wearing the dress on.
- Last but not the least choose the one you feel absolutely WOW in, if you are just going to have one spend your money on what makes you look good and feel good.
I have a few formal events coming up so i was browsing online for occasion wear dresses and absolutely loved the collection on Quiz clothing, gorgeous metallics and beautiful embellished pieces holding on all the points i mentioned above. Also ASOS has a great collection and today i am sharing my favourite occasion wear dresses from my online stroll.

I often think about the events or tasks that might be basic and day to day or even special and occasional but can be taken to another level to give a real wow feel if done with an extra bit of help aka with the service of a professional. You know those things that we know how to do and do not usually want to spend on! Lol!! Today i am sharing 3 things that would be well worth spending that extra buck on.
- Professional cleaning- Alright we know how to dust and wash, might even have a maid to help but i am not talking about any random house help. I mean a professional who is well versed with domestic cleaning, works like a zen and leaves your house spic and span. I mean why not a professionally cleaned house stays clean longer and is much more hygienic. Whenever i have got my house cleaned by a professional i have had the wow factor living in for days that far surpasses the extra buck i spent.
- Wedding planning - It can be expensive and mostly people avoid the cost but weddings are full of stress, be it your own or a family members getting outside help only helps in letting one enjoy the special occasion. Should not be even said that a professionally planned wedding has a different shine and after all how many times one gets married so that extra cost is well worth.
- Professional photographer- Human beings are visual creatures and with the increased captivation of social media in our lives every moment seems like not lived if not captured in a photograph. Being a blogger with a social media following even more. Traditionally pictures were taken on special occasions like wedding, engagement, baby shower, birthday, anniversary, etc but now photo taking has become an unconscious activity, almost. For capturing moments and occasions we often use our phone but those random phone pictures more often than not get deleted after a few days as compared to a well composed well shot photo that can almost be a treasure and that is the reason I invested in a DSLR early on. Our DSLR works for my blog pictures as well as to take pictures of family functions and special occasions, having said that neither me nor anyone in my family is really professionally qualified. So we also lookout for economical and efficient photography services believing a well shot photo can almost be a treasure.
In the direction of getting professional services i would love to introduce you to Bidvine. Everything runs in cycles, and the age of the pre-owned, rented and shared is back. Millennials are opting to buy pre-owned watches instead of the latest models. The new generations prefer to rent a tux rather than spend hundreds on a new one. And the first multi item rental shops are popping up.
But there are some items you should never buy pre-owned whether that is for hygiene or safety purposes, here are a few!
- Baby Crib
Baby cribs have been an item that has endured many recalls over the years whether it’s due to the crib being painted with paint containing lead or due to the risk of strangulation of the child. In 2011, the Consumer Product Safety Commission also banned the sale of drop-side cribs after several children died. All up-to-date information on recalls can be found at the CPSC.gov website. Check these before buying your child a NEW crib!
2. Car Seats
Many people do not know it, but car seats actually have a “shelf life” meaning they should only be used for so long before they are disposed of. Buying previously owned car seats can also be dangerous as it’s not known if the car seat was previously compromised or damaged. If you must buy used car seats do it from someone you personally know and trust.
3. Fine Jewelry/Watches
If you can’t authenticate the realness of it with 100% assurance you are probably wasting money. Spending money on something that “looks” real can land you in a lot of trouble. Even used these prices are not “cheap” and it’s a lot of money. There are a lot of fakes out there that look 100% real. Unless you have paperwork to authenticate your purchase, or you buy from a site like Chronoexpert who verify every one of the watches on their site, consider steering clear of used luxury items.
4. Baby Bottles
Buying used baby bottles allow any sort of previous viruses or bacteria from the previous child that used it to possibly get into your child’s mouth. Moreover, this can cause a serious illness to the child. Also, bottles sold before 2012 when BPA’s were found harmful and outlawed in the US may still contain them. New bottles are your best bet.
5. Mattresses
Mattresses may be one of the worst things you can buy used. When buying a used mattress then you are also buying all the owners previous bodily secretions and dead skin cells! While the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) can recommend signs to look for to find things like bed bugs no system of telling is foolproof. Point being your best bet is a new mattress.
6. Sheets/Pillows/Bedding
The same deal goes for sheets/pillows/bedding as did for mattresses. You are buying the previous owners bodily secretions and dead skin cells as well! It’s best to go new.
7. Used Pet Beds
Just like it’s not recommended to buy humans used bedding the same goes for your pet. The previous animal that used that bed is now passing its dead skin, fur, viruses, etc onto your lovely pet. Buy Fido a new bed, too!
8. Make-Up
Unless you want all of the bacteria and germs from someone else’s face spread onto yours, make-up is best bought brand new. Any germs or bacteria the previous owner had are lurking in that makeup. You are putting it all over your mouth and eyes and all over your face so avoid pre-owned make-up.
9. Hair/Makeup Brushes
If the person had a pink eye virus it may well be on their makeup brushes. If someone had lice it very well could be on their hairbrush. When it comes to brushes just buy new so you don’t risk getting what the previous owner may have had. You will spend more getting treatment than you saved.
10. Vacuum Cleaner
“But it’s still running just fine” Yeah! We’ve heard that argument before plenty of times. Chances are if the person is getting rid of the vacuum it’s not doing much vacuuming anymore. At that point, you are pushing a machine around your house just for a cardio workout. You’re not vacuuming much of anything. Plus, any bacteria, germs, or dust mites that got vacuumed up before will end up in your home! Check discount stores for better deals on new vacuums.
11. Shoes
It can be very tempting to buy second hand shoes at the charity of vintage store, but did you know that when you purchase someone’s used shoes you are also buying a shoe that conformed to someone else’s foot. That shoe is not likely to be very comfortable for you to wear unless you have the same foot shape. What are the chances of that? Slim to ZERO.
12. Worn Cookware
Buying slightly used heavy duty pots and pans are probably not harmful but buying well-used cookware with flaky surfaces and crusts on them may cause the chemicals in the coating on the pots or pans to leak into your food, and moreover, may contain potential carcinogens.
13. Small Appliances
These have become relatively inexpensive so buying new should be reasonable. You never know what will be wrong with a previous appliance you buy from someone else. The warranty has likely expired. If it breaks you will be out the money plus what you have to buy to replace it. Blenders, microwaves, toasters, just buy new.
14. Bike/Motorcycle Helmets
There is a very serious safety issue when it comes to helmets if it has been damaged or compromised then it will no longer protect you. See here for more info about how a bike helmet works.
15. Tires
Although the tire might pass the age old “penny test” it’s not a safe bet to buy used tires. If they were damaged like the sidewalls inside the tire you wouldn’t know it. If there’s a recall you won’t hear about it. Buy new tires.
I hope this post is helpful, please share in the comments any other item that you think should not be bought preowned.

If you’re planning a flying visit to London, then you’re probably already aware that there’s no way you’ll be able to explore everything the city has to offer. Having said that I’ve put together a handy guide to help make sure that you see as much of the city as possible with some of the best attractions on offer just incase you’re planning a quick stop-over in London for twenty-four hours.
London is huge and full of gems and experiences, this guide only helps with that chance when you are in London for 24hrs. For travel and exploring purposes i strongly suggest a minimum of 7 days for London.
Westminster and Southbank
In the political centre of the city, you’re surrounded by some of the capital’s main attractions. Wonder at the amazing Big Ben as you walk across London Bridge, which also offers one of the best Tower Bridge vantage points. Pop by 10 Downing Street, which is heavily guarded by police, and stroll past the Houses of Parliament to Westminster Abbey, a historical church that is used for formal ceremonies by the British Royal Family.
The Abbey is one of the must see London attractions, it’s also included with the London Pass a great way to save money on your trip to London. The Abbey is open from 9:30-15:30 Monday to Sunday.
Then, head over to Southbank and don’t miss out on a ride on the London Eye, which offers some of the best panoramic views of the capital and takes its first rotation at 10am. Here, you can also find the London Dungeon, which is open from 10:00-19:00 daily in the summer excluding Thursdays, when it opens at 11:00.
After a busy morning, head down to The Strand for lunch at one of the many restaurants and cafes. If you have the time, make the ten minute walk to Buckingham Palace, where you can see the Changing of the Guard if you time it right.
London Museums
During your twenty-four hours in London, there are a plethora of museums to choose from for anybody looking to learn more about the history and heritage of the city. The British Museum, for example, is one of the most famous museums in the UK and is located close by to a number of tube stations, including Tottenham Court Road, Russell Square, Goodge Street and Holborn. The British Museum is open daily from 10:00-17:30.
Along with this, there is a range of further museums and exhibitions in the city that you might want to include in your visit, such as the London Transport Museum, the Tower Bridge Exhibition, HMS Belfast, Churchill War Rooms, the Science Museum IMAX, the Queen’s Gallery, the Household Cavalry Museum, Charles Dickens Museum, the Cartoon Museum, and the Jewish Museum London to name just a few that are included with the London Pass.
Other Historic Sites
During your flying visit to London, there are certainly going to be a range of historic sites that you’ll want to visit. The Tower of London, for example, is a very popular attraction in the city where you can gain fast-tracked entry with a London Pass. The historic royal palace is open from 9:00-17:30 Tuesday to Saturday, and from 10:00-17:30 on Sunday and Monday.
Then, hop on the Underground to St. Paul’s, where you’ll see the famous cathedral from the moment you walk out of the station. This historic Anglican cathedral is open to the public from 8:30-16:30, with many different parts of the building to explore from the underground Crypt to the Golden Gallery, which you can climb to enjoy views of the city from over one hundred meters above.
The West End
Once you’ve taken in some of the most popular attractions in the capital city, it’s time to have some fun. If you are looking for entertainment, then the best place to head to is the West End, where you can find a plethora of different things going on. With more than forty theatres located here, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to picking which musical or theatre performance you’d like to see.
It’s impossible to see everything in London in as little as twenty-four hours, but there’s nothing stopping you from seeing some of the most popular attractions and sights. How do you plan to spend your next twenty-four hours in London? I’d love to hear from you in the comments.

This historic Anglican cathedral is open to the public from 8:30-16:30, with many different parts of the building to explore from the underground Crypt to the Golden Gallery, which you can climb to enjoy views of the city from over one hundred meters above.

Rain mixed with heat can spell a disaster combination. Obviously the humidity is up the roof and humidity spells to chip chip and not that clean feeling. Precisely how i feel in Delhi from June end till September start. I am bit of a cleanliness freak to the point of not wanting to leave my house from the fear of not feeling clean when out, lol anyways the one product that always stays in my bag when out is a hand sanitizer.
I remember the first time i was introduced to hand sanitizer some decades back i almost dint believe it. As a child i could only think of having clean hands after washing with soap and water, it took me quite a few days to accept that their could be a revolutionary product to clean hands specially on the go.
Recently I came across the new range of sanitizers from trusted brand Himalaya. Five fun and fresh exciting flavours , Green Apple, Litchi, Orange, Strawberry and Lemon. Just the flavours that would refresh your senses and give that clean and fresh feel, all the citrus flavours do that right!!!!
The packaging is very practical a plastic transparent bottle with a easy to open lid and the size 50ml is perfect to keep in ur bag or even wallet and also perfect for travel.
Just like the original formula the new PureHands range is herbal and alcohol based, filled with the goodness of herbs like Coriander which has potent antimicrobial properties, Lime which is a natural bactericidal, Neem which is antibacterial, fungicidal and antiviral. Ingredients that safely keep viruses, bacteria and fungi at bay killing 99.9% of germs. The new flavours are priced at Rs. 80/-
Most of us usually sanitize our hands before eating but its also suggested to sanitize before or after one of these.
- after using public convenience services like toilet, transport, etc.
- before and after attending to a sick person.
- before touching infants or small children.
- after touching animals.
- coming from hospitals, doctors clinic, etc.
- any public surface.
- last but not the least always while traveling.
I would also say with the rainy season in Delhi and the various common viruses around this time
sanitizing hands even at home is important.
All the flavours smell delicious but my favourite is strawberry, lol no i dint eat it!!!
Is a hand sanitizer also your companion?
Thank you for stopping by, see you with my next.
