No matter how much you love colour, in the colder months, an all black outfit is a practical and functional option that also reflects the mood. It is an easy outfit to do for most of us because we all have that wardrobe staple, the leather jacket. If not please get one. That said all black outfit may sound very easy to put on, but just throwing some black pieces together does not give the chic look. It can be super blah and that is no fun, more so when the weather is grumpy and miserable.
But with a few points to remember you can make your all black outfit fun as ever.
- Focus on the details - Yes just like monochrome, details make all the difference. Like my flared sleeve sweater/ jumper. The embroidery on my jeans. You can look for pieces with sequins, lace, ruffles, unusual cuts and embellishment details to amp up the outfit.
- Texture- The contrast of different fabrics is a great styling trick for an all black look. Faux Leather worn with knit or velvet or satin, you get the drill.
- A pop of colour - helps to break the monotone and adds interest. Like the pop of colour on my jeans here. Accessories are also a great way to add a pop of colour.
- Accessories- They are really the make or break point. Go for statement boots, statement bag, statement jewellery, statement belt. Just remember to balance it out. Not really a great idea to have all the statements together, haha!! I chose statement boots ( golden Chelsea boots) and bag (leopard print ) and kept the jewellery simple ( rose gold hoops).
- Metallics always look great with an all black outfit.
- Layering- Adds interest, this outfit is actually a great example. I am wearing a jumper, on top of it a longline gillet and on top of that a leather jacket.
Are you a fan of all black. Hope this post was helpful.
Thank you for stopping by, see you with my next.

The one outerwear that is going to be everywhere this winter is the teddy coat. Though I haven’t got one yet i am so excited about the street style inspirations on Instagram that I really can’t wait for the weather to be cold enough for me to get and rock one. The thing I love about teddy coats is the fact that they are soft, cozy and have the fur texture but are not bulky.
How to style teddy coats
- Super simple, treat them just like any other coat
- Great to play with textures, so pair with faux leather trousers or denim or sequins for the party season.
- They will look super cool paired with dark floral dresses and sock boots.
Admittedly I have done quite a bit of browsing online and found some great styles so I thought I will share with you here too.
Are you digging the teddy coat trend?

Well, i have to admit this is one of my favourite looks of this season. A fancy flared tie detail sleeve peeking out of a camel leather jacket worn with pink corduroy trousers and burgundy metallic loafer, ah so many elements yet so damn effortless. With this look as one of the examples, I am going to share a few tips that will help you look stylish and cool with zero effort.
- Scrunching up the sleeves always gives that cool effortless look. Also, a great way to add interest by showing the sleeves of the layer underneath your outerwear. Like here I scrunched up the sleeve of my leather jacket to show the fancy sleeves of the jumper as well as to add the cool points.
- Wear a lightweight polo neck underneath your shirt/dress. Make sure to loosen the top 3-4 buttons for a relaxed cool girl look.
- Swap your white shoes with metallic loafers, it's not much, just adds more polish and shine that the weather deserves without sacrificing on comfort.
- If it's not as cold, instead of wearing your jacket, cape it. Trust me will instantly make you more dressed up, interesting and cool. Zero effort for something so invigorating. Just make sure the jacket drapes well over your shoulders, arms and body.
- Mandatory even goes without saying play with different and unexpected fabrics like pair a leather jacket with corduroy trousers and so on. No effort but major style points.
What I wore- Sweater/jumper - Nakd ( 20 % discount with code 'chichi20') Jacket- ASOS, Trousers, and shoes - Zara

Occupancies on the personal front have kept me away from the events happening in Delhi. But I did go to a couple this month. Today I thought of sharing them on the blog too with you.
- Massimo Dutti a/w 17 collection preview - I always love their collection, tailored on trend and simple pieces with focus on textures and silhouettes for the chicest effortless urban looks. The a/w 17 collection was no different. The collection brings a sense of balance, echoing the Tuscan countryside, sun-baked red with soft greens and ochres echoing Mediterranean plants such as olives and vines. An ode to quality, expressed in the generous materials and their exquisite feel, brought together in unique designs. I particularly loved the use of the colour of the season red and also periwinkle blue.
- Balmain hair product and hair care launch - Balmain Hair has over 40 years of heritage in combining hair essentials with the latest catwalk trends. Over these 40 years, Balmain Hair has established its legitimacy in the field of luxury. Paying meticulous attention to detail and perfection and researching and creating new application techniques to guarantee the best quality products, while respecting their proud and rich heritage. Balmain hair couture is now available in India at selected Looks salons. I got hair spa done at the event and couldn’t stop touching my hair!!!!
- Aayna clinic opens in Khan Market - Leading cosmetic clinic, Aayna clinic, is now open in chic Khan market. The one and only specializing in nano blading in India, they offer a wide range of services from weight management to eyelash extensions. Some of the most popular and unique treatments available at AAYNA are Semi permanent make up, Margaret Dabbs Pedicures and Manicures and Dermal Fillers. Dermal fillers which is an Anti ageing treatment widely used but rarely done with so much precision that results look 100% natural. Can we take a moment to realize that 2017 is almost over! These two last months or so will run by even faster with family weddings and then the excitement for Christmas and new years. Usually, for Christmas and new year I make use of clothes in my wardrobe but this year we are planning a special party for the newlyweds so I was looking for dresses online, yes online because going to stores, standing in lines gives me more stress than pleasure.
I was looking at my go to sites and was really excited about the collection at Coast. Gorgeous lace, sheer, velvet, sequins, and cuts there is all. I was thinking something black or midnight blue because no matter what for evening wear those two always win because of versatility and ease of wear. Apart from being slimming and elongating, working for all shapes and sizes. My other criteria was midi length, I find it the most versatile length so I was super happy to find such a great selection at Coast ticking both the boxes!!! My favourite is the second one on the top in velvet, the cut looks very flattering and velvet, of course, is perfect for the temperature around Christmas and new year time. Also, the sleeve detail adds the extra bit of trendy touch. Would love to wear it with a pair of strappy heels and accessorise with my favourite pair of red earrings for a pop of colour. Second favourite is the first one on top, the shiny glittery fabric will be perfect for parties and the neckline is one of my most loved. Have you started thinking about Christmas and new year party wear? I am glad I have, things start to get out of hand last minute!!!!
If you are looking to buy a party/cocktail dress you can check this post on what to consider when shopping for occasion wear.

Trends are trends, they come and go and for those of us that are not so inclined towards fashion they actually can be intimidating. But they are fun too, sometimes they help us discover new likings and sometimes the risk adds to our confidence about our style. Today I am sharing with you two trends that are totally doable even for the most risk-averse, actually almost on the brink of becoming classic styles.
- denim on denim - the street style stars rock it and so do the celebs! I love it too, check this post on how to wear denim on denim.
- Monochrome- One colour look is easily the most thoughtless but it certainly looks the most thoughtful. Elongating, slimming, it does it all. check this post on why and how monochrome.
In this look, I am wearing both the above-mentioned trends. It is denim on denim and it is monochrome. The star of the look is the denim kimono which is perfect for autumn and also great for layering for winter. I have a feeling I might just be living in it!!

I also a discount coupon of 20% ( chichi20) for everything on NAKD. Also mentioning here, they deliver worldwide.
Are you a fan of denim on denim/monochrome or both? Thank you for stopping by see you with my next.

You guys know I am a sucker for a multitasking wardrobe. Repurposing and wearing pieces in different ways and on different occasions help me to not just minimize the need to buy n different things but also reduce the net cost of buying pieces. Its Diwali time followed by the wedding season, calls for n outfits, apart from the main days we have those days for Diwali parties and get-togethers. Outfits and outfits needed so this year I decided to make my dresses and non-traditional clothes work for the season by wearing them with traditional jewellery. Earrings are my go-to jewellery item and I was almost surprised how Indian and traditional they make even my boho modern dresses look.
My boho modern dress from Zara is given a traditional, apt for the festive and wedding season look by these beautiful chandelier pearl earrings made in silver from a brand I recently discovered, Tsara. Makers of destination silver jewellery, it rang a bell, all the pieces were stunning looking and so pocket-friendly, I had to know their story. And here it is, the owners Tarun and Natasha were in Udaipur, Rajasthan attending a friends wedding. After reaching their room post the sangeet function Natasha realised that one of her gold bangles was missing. They searched and searched but didn’t find it. Apart from the sadness of the loss she also felt ashamed and embarrassed to inform Tarun’s mother when they come back home. And there came the idea of making jewellery which looks just as good, if not better, than gold and diamond jewellery, so women can travel with it without stressing.
Stressing about the financials of how much jewellery actually costs.
Stressing about after purchasing it, it just sits in the bank lockers.
Stressing about customs for international flights.
Stressing about it left in hotel rooms.
Stressing about the jewellery getting lost.
I think we have all experienced some or all of those fears. I showed the pieces to my mother and she was in love instantly, her words ‘ who wants the stress, if there is no compromise on looks’. Tsara's brand philosophy is to look your best without the stress of what might happen to your jewellery. So they use colour stones and setting styles which the diamond jewellers use but replace the gold and diamonds with silver and cubic zirconias. Couldn’t have been better, even for my sister's wedding trousseau we are considering a few pieces from Tsara.
You might be thinking that silver oxidizes so, ok yes it does but Tsara uses rhodium plating which gold and diamond jewellers use so the process is very slow. They also give an anti-tarnish cloth that helps bring the shine back to a greater extent. The products might be a little on the pricier side but the quality and the look totally compensate for it. And actually very versatile, I wore this piece with my dress for Diwali party and I can wear with any of my traditional clothes for the wedding season. Which reduces the cost even further, the number of times and ways you wear a piece determines the true amount you spend on it, right!!!
They are available online as well as offline in the following stores in India.
Delhi - Tiana Jewels, Khan Market
Mumbai- 2Divine, Julie by Julie Shah, Amara, Sattva, Sequins
Pune- Mairah
And before I forget, HAPPY DIWALI everyone!! Decorate, eat lots of food, play cards but say no to crackers.
Suggested post- Indian wear for Diwali, weddings or special occasion.
- Traditional in trending pink and yellow.
- Simple soft and dewy Diwali makeup.

Well, I am one of those girls who would literally spend just about 5 minutes on her makeup, not that I do not have time but I like to have a simpler what works for me makeup routine than trying out a zillion things. It is the Diwali and wedding season, we want to have that great looking skin but are usually short of time so I thought of sharing my simple makeup routine with you all, the routine is simple but the look is well worth any festival, get-togethers or even a small party.
Step 1. Moisturize and prime your face - I can’t stress enough how important these are, a well moisturized and primed face is the prerequisite for any makeup. Whenever I wear makeup I use Embryolisse lait creme concentrate as moisturizer and for primer, I use bare mineral prime time or NYX hd photogenic primer. The Embryolisse creme is one of my holy grails, blending is a piece of cake, helps with staying power and above all makes skin very supple and hydrated which shows in the makeup.
Step 2. If your skin does not need much coverage I suggest skipping on the foundation. Here I used concealer to conceal my under eyes, even out the skin tone near my mouth and then whatever product was left on the makeup sponge I just patted it on my nose. I always use a sponge for concealer/ foundation and before I begin I spray smash box primer water on the sponge, this not only makes the sponge wettish which helps to spread the makeup but also helps with the staying power of the makeup.
Step 3. Next, I put Ben Nye banana powder on all the areas I applied the concealer, and then just run the same brush all over the face. Gosh, this is the one product that has changed my makeup game completely. Keeps my makeup rocking for more than 12 hours and the finish is superb.
Step 4. Blush it on. Soft pink or dusty pink look great.
Step 5. Do your eyebrows, yes go on fill them! So much structure and character in just one step. I either use the Maybelline fiber brow precise or the NYX brow kit in dark brown or both.
Step 6. Mascara, putting eyeliner and making sure they match is a task for most, so just do 2 quotes of mascara and tada!! I am wearing Loreal telescopic.
Step 7. Of course a lippie, for Indian festivals and weddings shades of pink and red work best.
that's all but if you have time
Step 8. Dab some highlight on the cheekbones and on the high points of your eyelid below the eyebrows. Here I used Mac soft and gentle.
Step 9. Softly define the crease of your eyelid with a soft brown eyeshadow.
This is a very basic simple makeup routine that barely takes me about 5-7 mins max.
Hope this post is helpful, would love to know whats your simple yet fancy makeup look.
Thank you for stopping by, see you with my next.

Love
Chichi
