Hey everyone
With
winters comes the great task of taking care of woolens and the most important
and daunting task is washing, I am always scared to wash my woolens as many
many times in the past they have come out deformed. Thankfully for the last two years I
have been following a process of washing which is working 100%, also thanks to
my uncle’s great tips who is in the dry cleaning business, so today I thought
of sharing it here but before that i want to share a story, In the first winter after my sisters marriage her mom in law asked her if she knew how to wash woollens and she very easily said yes, thinking whats the big deal, so she was given the responsibility to wash her father in laws favourite sweater, to everyones horror it came out half its size as i used the normal soap to wash!!!!! Now to the tips:
Hand wash/
dry clean- it's fine to hand wash unless the wash care instruction says dry
clean only.
What to
wash woollens with- This is really the main deal, powder detergents no matter
how expensive contain soda which is very corrosive and robs off colour and
style from our favorite woolens and
after losing many of my favourite knits in the wash I was quite frightened by
the thought of washing my woolens, luckily
my dear uncle came to my rescue and suggested Godrej Ezee, and since then woolen
care has been a breeze, the packaging is very convenient to use and store and there are many easy to choose size options, Ezee being a zero
soda formula cleans gently and the new Godrej Ezee is pH neutral in built
fabric conditioner that gives woolens a very pleasant fragrance, is even better.
Good aroma is very important as our mind associates good smell as clean and
fresh and also of course it also helps in easy storing of woolens. I literally
swear by their tagline 'Ragdo mat, take it ezee'
How to wash woollens- Soak the woollens in a bucket of cold water add some GodrejEzee and then rinse gently after 30 mins.

After wash- Never wring or hang your woolens or the weight of the water will make them loose their shape. Just lay them flat on a towel and gently squeeze the water and then lay flat to dry in shade.
Ironing- if not needed, not ironing is better but if you have to make sure the iron setting is changed to wool.
I really
hope you can make use of the above tips and product recommendation to not only
keep your woolens style and colour but also their warmth.
Thank you
for stopping by! See you in my next one.

Hey everyone!
Today i want to talk about a much loved brand for indian wear, BIBA, that has been spreading the joys of traditional indian wear since 1986. I have personally shopped at BIBA quite a few times most recently a gift from my grandmom when i visited her house for the first time after my wedding, very well remember wanting to buy all the pieces in the shop! lol!!
I specially love their latest Anarkali suit collection, Anarkali is a an extremely elegant and universally flattering style of salwar kamiz with an A line frock style upper and a slim fitting bottom, its also the preferred choice of indian wear of celebrities from the Indian subcontinent. What i specially love about the Biba Anarkali collection and why i am talking about it, is the variety, they have so many prints and colours and styles at reasonable prices, perfect for any occasion that you have to wear Indian. Also specially want to mention the sizes, they literally have it all!
How to style Anarkali suit-
Jewellery to wear- If you choose a bold piece, keep the jewellery min and let the suit be the centre of attention and vice versa.
Shoe style to wear- Open toe high heels give you hieght and make the look more formal, for casual occasions go for flats or juttis.
How i love to wear in 2017- Choose a white or plain design like the first one above and top it with colourful tassel earrings, heaven!!!
I have chosen a few of my favourites from the BIBA anarkali collection, above, but you can check the whole collection at their online shop.
Thank you for stopping by! See you in my next one.

Hey everyone
Trends come and go some last a season and some a few but there are items that last in your wardrobes forever, you can call them a basic or a classic but they really are the fundamental pieces that make your wardrobe functional. Miss out on them and you will find yourself in a crisis situation more often than not. The workhorses as i like to call them are the building blocks that help you rock and shine in those trends in a chic and put together way. As per the pyramid rule of fashion styling your wardrobe should have a minimum of 35% basics to keep you well turned out every single time. More on that later!
I think basics can be different for different people depending on their lifestyle, work, place of living and personal preference. For e.g for some a black jeans maybe a basic and for some a blue so it really depends and i suggest you take a stock of your wardrobe and your lifestyle, etc write the basics for your wardrobe and then make sure you always have them stocked in the perfect condition, I strongly suggest investing in basics so do not hold yourself from spending.
Having said that there are a few items that work for majority of us so i have decided to create a new series on the blog, the wardrobe basics, dividing it further into summer and winter for obvious reasons. In this series i will be talking about the mood of the piece, what to look for while shopping and also some ideas on styling. To start the series, today i am going to talk about the first item in the winter wardrobe basics, a black leather jacket.
A leather jacket is really a timeless piece that gets better with age.
What a leather jacket does- 1. Adds rocker edgy vibe to any look.
2. People generally perceive the wearer as more confident.
3. Makes an outfit casual but still keeps it polished.
4. Black is a universal colour that goes with everything.
What to look for when buying a leather jacket - Great quality, do not hesitate from splurging as you will wear it year after year.
Consider your body type before you buy
- rectangular/ hourglass shape- flare detail or metallic details highlighting the waist.
- apple shape- choose one that is longer with not many details to bring focus to your heavy part i.e the upper body.
- pear shape - just the opposite choose shorter length so the focus is on your small part i.e the waist and not your hips.
Go to outfit- skinny jeans+ tee+ boots
To brunch- with a midi skirt / midi dress + sneakers
To afternoon tea- culottes+ fancy blouse+pointed toe heels
To meetings- tailored trouser+ shirt+ pumps
To date night- shirt dress+ leggings+ booties
When its very cold- over knit or under coat
When its very cold- over knit or under coat
How to wear a leather jacket in 2017
- wear with pleated metallic skirts + ballerina flats.
- high waisted straight leg embroidered denim + choker neck knit+ embroidered jacquard boots.
- fringed denim + loafer/ slippers + bell sleeve blouse.
- zipped inside a long puffer jacket.
- a dark floral lace or mesh detail maxi dress + velvet boots .
This is one of my go to looks that i have been wearing for many years and would wear for many years to come.
Pin the picture so you can refer the post in future!
A leather jacket can be part of your wardrobe for 3 seasons, autumn, winter and spring so the many ways you can wear it is really endless. To help you more i have selected some leather jackets both in the reasonable and budget category that you can check.

I hope these tips are helpful! In the comments, pls share how you love to wear your leather jacket?

Hey everyone!
India is the worlds largest manufacturer of carpets and Obeetee carpets is one of pioneers of hand woven rugs in the country. To take the incredible indian craft and quintessential indian designs to the world they have collaborated with the countries most exciting designers to bring a spectacular collection of hand knotted carpets.
I had the pleasure to attend the launch of the first of the four designer collections, Tarun Tahiliani x Obeetee, in the beautiful Bikaner House in New Delhi and was completely awe struck by the simplicity of the collection.
About Obeetee- Founded in 1920 the company has grown to 650 permanent employees and engages over 20000 independent artisans for weaving and processing. It is the leading producer of hand knotted, hand tuffed and flat woven carpets in India, holds the worlds first wool mark license for hand knotted carpets and the recipient of many national and international awards. Obeetee care’s for the extended families of its workers and is committed to becoming more and more environment friendly. They strive to bring the best quality products to their customer with focus on innovation while preserving the old indigenous crafts and designs of India.
Tarun Tahiliani X Obeetee- Celebrated Indian couture designer Tarun Tahiliani is known for his focus on indian embroidery like chikankari in his collections and there is great synthesis between his work and Obeetee. Together they have come with a collection that is a nod to India’s glorious heritage and her vibrant present. The framework of the collection is based upon three distinct design structures- The Antique Frames Collection, The Chikankari collection and The Abstract Art Collection and thus making it truly global but with an Indian soul. There are many firsts in this collection like for the first time fine Zari threads have been woven into rugs, classic indian motifs like Kairi booties and stylized floral patterns like lotus and rose have been extensively used to add significant detail and lusture. The carpets are produced in as natural surroundings as possible and are very close to sustainability, one rug taking almost a year to produce these masterpieces are no less than a timeless treasure.
There are plans to take these limited edition collections, rightly being called the ‘proud to be indian collection’ all over the globe beginning with New York, USA in February.
I was completely smitten by the muted colours and details in the carpets, they celebrate modern India in its truest form that is moving with all the technological and other advancements with the rest of the world but very conscious and proud of its rich culture, design and craft and very confidently wears the #proudtobeindian.
And finally here is my outfit for the event, my version of a suited look, effortless and relaxed. You know i love checks and leopard print and these two pieces here the woven trousers ( super warm) and the loafers ( super comfy) i am totally obsessed with, very practical and very chic.
