Hey everyone!

Closet full of clothes and nothing to wear or maybe the closet is not full but you get what i am trying to say, you have nothing to wear  doesn’t feel good right! now add to it the pressure of attending a big event like fashion week. This was my situation when i last minute decided to attend the india fashion week in delhi. I think i was just stupid to not plan for it. Should not even start about that as i still feel like slapping myself!!!!

Basically i had no outfit so the only option left was to use my styling sense to come up with a fashion week worthy outfit with pieces existing in my wardrobe. Layering is the first word that comes to my mind when thinking of fresh outfits with existing pieces. And matching sets had saved me many a times in the past so i thought of this black one which is probably 3 years old and put this black embroidery skirt from this summer on top and voila i had my outfit. The pieces were old but the outfit was totally fresh and forward for autumn 2016.

So here are a few points to help u when u have nothing to wear i.e when u need a fresh outfit from your existing wardrobe (not how to have nothing to wear i.e items that should be in your wardrobe so you are not stuck with nothing to wear, which i will talk about in another post.)

  1. Think of layering like in todays outfit, or adding a vest on top of ur off shoulder top, etc. Spring, autumn and winter u can really use this technique to come up with multitude diff outfits.
  2. Think of unusual pairings like a wrap dress with a pencil skirt
  3. Wear with diff accessories like something u have been wearing with minimal jewelry , wear it with statement clutch or earrings
  4. Combine different moods like embroidery with clean cuts.
  5. Change your footwear like your ultra feminine  pleated midi that you have worn with heels and sleek shoes now wear with edgy boots.
  6. Create a pinterest board of outfits that involve the pieces or similar pieces that you have in your wardrobe. So whenever you come across any outfit that u like or find fresh on blogs, fashion websites, instagram, google search or pinterest just pin it to that board and refer to it whenever you are stuck.

what i wore- co ord set- boohoo, shoes- similar, skirt- boohoo

I am totally in love with this super easy braided half updo. Looks great on long hair and if u too want to achieve that clip in hair extensions and tape in hair extensions from omgnb are great.

Hey everyone!

Even though i am constantly looking for and understanding the newest trends coming from the runways, street style stars, my fav bloggers, fashion magazines, etc, etc i am often stuck with the dilemma to buy or not buy a trend, whether it is here to stay or will it fizzle out. In the past i was usually late almost super late to jump onto the bandwagon of trends but now i have started to make fast decisions. No waiting and watching anymore, its either Yes or No.

However the 3 easy rules i follow before actually buying into a trend are
  1. i should be able to come up with at least 3 diff outfit combinations with the piece.
  2. 8/10 times i prefer to buy a neutral colour so its easier to wear with different outfits.
  3. it should either match my personal style or be a challenge i.e something that i truly like but find a bit difficult to work. Just by following these three simple rules i have been able to be on trend and enjoy them without being stuck with items that i would only wear once and regret purchasing.

What i wore- Beret- Asos, Jacket- Mango, Dress- Asos, Boots- 4th and reckless

I love ankle boots (ending at ankle level) so wanted to try the calf boots (ending at mid calf level)  trend but was not particularly sure so i got one in nude which can be worn with multiple colors and have been able to wear quite a few times and in todays outfit i quite like how it dressed up this casual dress. It is from 4th and reckless, currently sold out but there are other calf length options in velvet and pu leather, they deliver worldwide.

Jackets hanging on one shoulder is definitely a styling trick i love. how instantly u have a fresh look with something u might have worn a million times.

Think parisian chic think beret! After wearing it this day to actually cover my dirty unwashed hair i am sold. Couldn’t be happier about how chic it made my outfit look.

Hey everyone!

When it comes to Indian outfits i always go the traditional way! Wear it as it has been for ages! No styling nothing. The reason behind that is the beauty of the garments, be it the fabric or embroidery or work its just so beautiful that i feel it should be worn as simply and in its original form.
These days i am only wearing Indian clothes during festivals or weddings or special occasions so i don’t shop as much and its probably just limited to 1 or 2 outfits in a year that see me through the festive and wedding season. I mostly try to get something that can be worn for different occasions and offlate me and my mom have been mostly shopping at Meena Bazaar.
Meena Bazaar is a premium Indian Ethnic wear brand for women with stores all over India, USA, UK and UAE. Trust me guys they are the one stop shop for ethnic indian clothes. Be it weddings, cocktail, festivals or small occasions their range always delivers.

I am in love with the kashmiri embroidery on this anarkali suit. Its all over but does not look very in your face and the red and black color combo makes it wearable on many diff occasions like a cocktail event or wedding or diwali parties or just about any occasion that you want to wear indian clothes. I wore it without the dupatta on this day but you can always take it depending on your mood or occasion.

There are quite a few similar ones on Meena Bazaar's online shop and they deliver to your doorstep no matter which part of the world. Diwali is just 2 days away so if u are like me who gets her diwali outfits last min do check them out and definitely for the wedding season, you will love their collection.

Thank you for stopping by! See you in my next one.

Hey everyone!

I love to do something fancy with my hair on special occasions like festivals for a change, to make the day a bit more special and feel more special. Having said that i cannot imagine to spend a lot of time getting ready because there is so much to do and for the same reason i also prefer to have my hair off my face so i need a hairstyle that looks fancy but is simple and easy to do in around 5-10 mins and keeps my hair off my face. And this one fits perfectly. Its literally the most simple yet intricate looking updo. Works for many occasions and many diff types of outfits and barely takes 7-10 mins given my long hair. So for hair not so long it can be done in around 5 and i bet after doing a couple of times u can pull it off in less than 5 mins so it can actually be your go to fancy hairstyle.

Works on- On any type hair, straight, curled or wavy and any day hair. If you can make a small bun from ur hair, this hairstyle will work for u, hair does not have to be medium length or long.

Tools- Hair brush, bobby pins, hair tie, moroccan oil or hair spray.

Steps

1- Brush your hair to make sure there are no tangles.
2- Do a side part on the front.

3- Take a small section on the major side of the part and divide it into three equal parts left right and centre and start to make a french dutch braid i.e take the left part cross it under the middle part, then take the right part cross it under the middle part. Before making the next stitch take a small section of hair from the left side and add to the part on the left and then cross it under the middle then take a small section from the right, add to the part on the right and cross it under the middle, continue braiding the same way till u reach your ears. After reaching ear level stop adding fresh sections and just do a regular dutch braid.
4- Fan out the sections of the braid to make it look more full.

5- Tie the unbraided hair in a pony tail at the middle of your head.
6- Make a bun by wrapping your hair around the base of the ponytail and secure with bobby pins.
7- Take the braid and just wrap it around the bun, tuck the end inside the bun and secure with bobby pin.

8-  Smooth out the frizz on top, if any with moroccan oil.
9-  If you feel u need more volume on top of the head just pull out some hair with the back of a comb.
10- You are done.

If you know how to make a french dutch braid there is nothing to do in the hairstyle its literally a piece of cake. If not its a very simple 3 strand braid, if you follow point no 3 should not be a problem, if you don’t get it right the first time don’t loose heart practice a couple of times and u will be a pro, trust me.

Hope this hairstyle becomes your go to fancy hairstyle! Thank you for stopping by! See you in my next one.

Hey everyone

I am full on in the festive mood with Diwali just 5 days away and all the future posts for the rest of the month will be related to Diwali, the festival of lights. I am looking forward to doing a hair post, an outfit post and if possible i will also share a simple to do sweet dish.

Ok now back to todays post! It is in collaboration with Boohoo, part of their Bloggers X Dress of the month campaign. What that is, ok,  Boohoo picks up a few of their loved bloggers and sends them a secret dress which the bloggers may not have picked for themselves or may not have considered that they ‘could’ pull it off, to style as per their personal styles, their body types and really own the dress and make it their own.
So when Boohoo asked me if i would take the challenge, had to say yes, love their products as it is. I did get to pick the colour out from Khaki, Silver grey, black and white. Of course i chose grey its my fav neutral and i knew if i had that i would be a lot safe, hahaha!!

The wrap dress is such a versatile piece, will work from season to season, can be worn as it is or as a duster and perfect for layering as in todays outfit.

What i wore- Dress- Boohoo, Skirt- Boohoo, Shoes- Dune (similar in velvet), Earrings- H&M (similar)

The satin fabric feels so soft on the skin i didn't want to take it off.

To be honest i don’t think i have worn anything like this wrap style satin dress so it was quite a challenge but i just thought of the layering possibilities for autumn and wearing it with a pencil skirt just clicked. It is quite an unexpected layering, dress over skirt, and haven't really seen anyone wear it but i wanted to give it a go and glad i did. Its fresh, simple and very wearable.

I wanted to have some color blocking going and red seemed perfect to brighten up the look. I kept my hair sleek but still boho to make the whole look completely true to my style of effortless, classic and boho.

What i wore- Dress- Boohoo (available khaki, grey, chocolate,) Skirt- Boohoo, Shoes- Dune (similar in velvet), Earrings- H&M (similar)

You guys know how much i love wearing my dresses with trousers and i think dresses with skirts will be a new favorite. So all i want to say is never stop exploring the diff ways you can combine your clothes, the possibilities are endless.

Thank you for stopping by! See you in my next one, hopefully a hair post.
