Hey everyone!

I love to do something fancy with my hair on special occasions like festivals for a change, to make the day a bit more special and feel more special. Having said that i cannot imagine to spend a lot of time getting ready because there is so much to do and for the same reason i also prefer to have my hair off my face so i need a hairstyle that looks fancy but is simple and easy to do in around 5-10 mins and keeps my hair off my face. And this one fits perfectly. Its literally the most simple yet intricate looking updo. Works for many occasions and many diff types of outfits and barely takes 7-10 mins given my long hair. So for hair not so long it can be done in around 5 and i bet after doing a couple of times u can pull it off in less than 5 mins so it can actually be your go to fancy hairstyle.

Works on- On any type hair, straight, curled or wavy and any day hair. If you can make a small bun from ur hair, this hairstyle will work for u, hair does not have to be medium length or long.

Tools- Hair brush, bobby pins, hair tie, moroccan oil or hair spray.

Steps

1- Brush your hair to make sure there are no tangles.
2- Do a side part on the front.

3- Take a small section on the major side of the part and divide it into three equal parts left right and centre and start to make a french dutch braid i.e take the left part cross it under the middle part, then take the right part cross it under the middle part. Before making the next stitch take a small section of hair from the left side and add to the part on the left and then cross it under the middle then take a small section from the right, add to the part on the right and cross it under the middle, continue braiding the same way till u reach your ears. After reaching ear level stop adding fresh sections and just do a regular dutch braid.
4- Fan out the sections of the braid to make it look more full.

5- Tie the unbraided hair in a pony tail at the middle of your head.
6- Make a bun by wrapping your hair around the base of the ponytail and secure with bobby pins.
7- Take the braid and just wrap it around the bun, tuck the end inside the bun and secure with bobby pin.

8-  Smooth out the frizz on top, if any with moroccan oil.
9-  If you feel u need more volume on top of the head just pull out some hair with the back of a comb.
10- You are done.

If you know how to make a french dutch braid there is nothing to do in the hairstyle its literally a piece of cake. If not its a very simple 3 strand braid, if you follow point no 3 should not be a problem, if you don’t get it right the first time don’t loose heart practice a couple of times and u will be a pro, trust me.

Hope this hairstyle becomes your go to fancy hairstyle! Thank you for stopping by! See you in my next one.

Hey everyone

I am full on in the festive mood with Diwali just 5 days away and all the future posts for the rest of the month will be related to Diwali, the festival of lights. I am looking forward to doing a hair post, an outfit post and if possible i will also share a simple to do sweet dish.

Ok now back to todays post! It is in collaboration with Boohoo, part of their Bloggers X Dress of the month campaign. What that is, ok,  Boohoo picks up a few of their loved bloggers and sends them a secret dress which the bloggers may not have picked for themselves or may not have considered that they ‘could’ pull it off, to style as per their personal styles, their body types and really own the dress and make it their own.
So when Boohoo asked me if i would take the challenge, had to say yes, love their products as it is. I did get to pick the colour out from Khaki, Silver grey, black and white. Of course i chose grey its my fav neutral and i knew if i had that i would be a lot safe, hahaha!!

The wrap dress is such a versatile piece, will work from season to season, can be worn as it is or as a duster and perfect for layering as in todays outfit.

What i wore- Dress- Boohoo, Skirt- Boohoo, Shoes- Dune (similar in velvet), Earrings- H&M (similar)

The satin fabric feels so soft on the skin i didn't want to take it off.

To be honest i don’t think i have worn anything like this wrap style satin dress so it was quite a challenge but i just thought of the layering possibilities for autumn and wearing it with a pencil skirt just clicked. It is quite an unexpected layering, dress over skirt, and haven't really seen anyone wear it but i wanted to give it a go and glad i did. Its fresh, simple and very wearable.

I wanted to have some color blocking going and red seemed perfect to brighten up the look. I kept my hair sleek but still boho to make the whole look completely true to my style of effortless, classic and boho.

What i wore- Dress- Boohoo (available khaki, grey, chocolate,) Skirt- Boohoo, Shoes- Dune (similar in velvet), Earrings- H&M (similar)

You guys know how much i love wearing my dresses with trousers and i think dresses with skirts will be a new favorite. So all i want to say is never stop exploring the diff ways you can combine your clothes, the possibilities are endless.

Thank you for stopping by! See you in my next one, hopefully a hair post.

Hey everyone! Statement tops have been quite a rage this year  think ones with flared sleeves, flutter sleeves, pleats, shoulder details, ruffles to name some. I also see the same details in sweaters/ jumpers  now for the colder weather.  Since they are so eye catching the chic way, also the easiest, to style them is:
1 keep the rest of the outfit simple and neutral so the focus remains on the top and the whole look remains effortless.
2 Pick rest of the pieces in the colors on the top.

For e.g in this outfit i chose to pair my statement top with navy and light blue color blocking, pleats and bubble sleeves with  plain navy leggings and sleek black (neutral) mules. It is a head turning look but very uncomplicated and effortless.

What i wore- Top- Chicwish, Jeggings- BoohooMulesearringsBag

There is so much movement in this top i just couldn't stop myself from twirling.

All in with the mules trend, i suggest going ahead with a black one like this which is easy to pair with everything. They instantly make any outfit trendy and relevant to 2016.

I always love to twist things a bit with my hair, like a sleek outfit with more effortless hair and on this day since the outfit was a lot elegant  i kept my hair in a messy braid.

What i wore- Top- Chicwish, Jeggings- Boohoo, Mules, earrings, Bag

This is a great look to wear on a sunny autumn day when u can neither think of baring ur legs nor putting a sweater on. This top is perfect for the weather, full sleeves and the length is almost tunic length so when it gets more cold i will just have a scarf around my neck or add a vest/ gilet on top and good to go.

I have also linked some of my other similar  fav tops and sweaters from chicwish have a look, they deliver worldwide.

Thank you for stopping by! See you in my next one.

Hey everyone!

You know how much i love earrings! They are always an integral part of most of my looks and i just can’t stop myself from getting one or two  everytime i am  shopping. So i thought of putting together the reasons i love them and why they are great:

1 Easiest way to enhance your outfits.
2 Add some glam to simple outfits.
3 Earrings are good to give ur own twist to outfits, e.g boho vibes to minimal outfits.
4 if u have a long neck earrings are the jewelry piece for u.
5 to add color to ur looks or enhance the colors in ur outfit.
6 brighten ur face, not just the statement ones but the simple minimal ones too.
7 must for the festive season or formal occasions.

Recently came across Happiness Boutique and loved their collection of earrings from minimal to statement have a look, they deliver worldwide.

Hey everyone!

Velvet is the hottest trend of the season, i have said this in 5 posts already! But i can't stop myself and maybe ill say it quite a few times in the future as well, it is just so luxurious and rich and it was high time it became a rage, glad it did. The texture, the shine, the softness and the comfort, all perfect for autumn/fall winter and i am sure all of us will have a couple of pieces before s/s 17. That said, what to do when u r dying to start wearing it but the weather is still not cold enough? My best bet is a shirt dress like this one. Its loose and airy, a lot above the knee and u can definitely squish the sleeves to expose your arms. So there u have it, rocking the fabric/ trend in its full glory without being hot.
This came true for me this day as you can see it was also quite sunny but i was comfortable throughout.

What i wore- Dress Zaful, Shoes- Zaful, Belt- Asos, Choker- River Island, Earrings- River Island, Bag- Asos

Loving the fashion pieces from Zaful ! Their quality is good and very reasonable price.

Going matchy matchy with accessories, why not and in 2016 yes please if its animal print.

Open toe is quite a fun twist to shoes and adds interest.

What i wore- Dress Zaful love this too Shoes- Zaful, Belt- Asos, Choker- River Island, Earrings- River Island, Bag- Asos

Belting is the answer to give form to anything loose  and this leopard print western belt adds a lot of feistiness to the outfit.

Hey Everyone!

Festivals are here and that means get togethers, parties, night outs and a lot of fun. With all the good mood around we sometimes forget on essentials, like what to keep in your bag before heading out for celebrations,
First and foremost Never leave your house without a small clutch or bag, a lot of things can happen and its better to have a few essentials with u in your bag.

1. Perfume and/or Deodorant

Even if the venue is air conditioned, you will be around a number of people and this would definitely make you feel warm or even sweaty while you're dancing for several hours. Body odor is definitely embarrassing, but you can prevent that from happening by simply bringing a trial-size deodorant or perfume with you.

Also, don't forget to pick a deodorant that's invisible, because it can also be humiliating if there are some remnants of it on your dress.

2. Makeup
For special occasions like festivals, weddings or prom we try to look our best, either we go to a saloon or spend several hours at home to ensure that our makeup is perfect-- so to make sure ur makeup stays perfect all night bring a small makeup kit with powder, lipstick, mascara for touch up.
In case you are going to a wedding or prom u might also get emotional and end up crying so do remember to wear water proof mascara. check out these  touch up makeup tips worth trying.

3. Sewing Kit
Yes, you read it right. You should bring a tiny sewing kit with you, because anything could happen to the dress you're wearing. No matter how careful you are, there's always the possibility that someone would step on your lovely dress and accidentally rip it up. You don't want this to ruin your night, don't you? So, to prevent that from happening, better bring a small-sized sewing kit that would let you do an emergency dress repair.
If you are buying Indian outfits make sure u get from a dependable shop/ boutique or if u r getting it stitched double check to ensure its proper and incase you are buying dresses like  evening dresses/ gowns or prom dresses u can
visit Prom Dress Shop in Chicago a specialized one is always better also check this small video to look ur best

How Not to Look Like a Hot Mess on Prom from Prom Dress Shop on Vimeo.

4. Mints or Gums
Worried about your breath? Are you thinking that this might prevent you from socializing with others? Stay confident by having a gum or mints with you. Just pop a piece or two in your mouth and you don't have to worry about talking loudly, or close to your friends or date. Mints work best if you'll have them in your mouth after eating or having a drink.

5. Shoe Glue
Yes there are chances of your shoe falling apart, it has happened to me as well as my friends many many times so keep a shoe glue and incase ur shoe breaks, glue and give it sometime, maybe walk in the bathroom to ensure that the shoe will not break again before heading out into the crowd.

6. Hair Essentials
If you'll be dancing the whole night, then your hair may not be as glamorous as it was when you first arrived at the venue. Don't worry, you can easily fix it up by bringing a small bottle of hair spray, small comb, some elastics, and bobby pins.

7. Medication
In case you have some sensitivities to music or food or anything bring your prescribed medicines. Also a basic one since you are going to be excited, nervous, anxious, happy and thrilled, basically too many emotions which can give you headache’s, and you wouldn’t want that to ruin your night so when you start feeling sick, just take a pill and you don't have to worry about leaving the event early.

8. Band Aid
This i never leave home without, blisters are way to disturbing and could actually spoil ur night so unless ur shoes are completely lived in don’t forget to bring bandaid.

9. Money and Your Phone
Last, but definitely not the least would be to ensure that you've brought your card or enough cash with you. Also, don't forget the most important item of todays times the mobile phone.

Jeans- Topshop, Heels- Quiz clothing, Top- Asos( similar), Bag- Dune (similar), Bracelet- the peach box

This outfit is from sometime back that i had forgotten to share and because of the experience i had with my blouse that day, i thought of sharing it today. The sleeve got stuck with a thorny plant and got ripped, luckily i had  needle and thread in my bag and could sew it in few mins.

So yes agreed no matter how hard you plan, it's impossible to control or anticipate what could probably happen at big events. All you can do is prepare yourself, and bring the things that you might need. Do share any other item that you think can be added to the list.

Thank you for stopping by! See you in my next one.
