Todays post is a different one its about what shirts do women prefer on men. I have never talked about mens fashion on the blog but why not? Specially if its a post on women's liking on men.

When choosing a shirt to impress, a few questions might cross a man’s mind: does it match with the trousers? Is the material of a good quality? Is it suitable for the dress code? Something that men should also be asking is – what does this colour say about me?
Research has shown that the colour of a man’s shirt can perceive them in a certain way, if you’re looking to come across as powerful; choose red. If you want to show confidence, always opt for black. With help from Charles Tyrwhitt, experts in gentlemen’s fashion and retailers of men’s formal shirts, lets investigate further and find out which colours women prefer on men.

Choosing the right colour

When it comes to deciding which coloured shirt to buy, there are some that are perceived more positively by the opposite sex. Consider purchasing one of the following coloured shirts on your next shopping trip if you’re looking to dress to impress…

Red

Associated with Valentine’s Day and all things romantic, red signifies love and passion. It is thought that the attraction to red comes from our biological roots – many animals such as baboons are attracted to the opposite sex if they display bright colours. To wear this on a first date might be slightly overpowering, however it does give off some vibes that your date might be interested in.
If you’re looking to demonstrate power and a strong social status, red is a good colour to go for. Research found that wearing red can actually boost the wearers own confidence, which will be a good thing during a first date for women who are looking for a man with some self-assurance. A red shirt can indicate that you have good health and are financially stable, two more things a woman may have on their checklist when looking for a new partner.
In a survey which explored the attractiveness of men in different coloured shirts, red was found to be more attractive than blue or green. This perception was a global consensus - so wherever in the world you go wearing a red shirt, expect to get a similar reception.
However, although the colour was linked to romance it was not associated with the wearer being kind or sociable – perhaps you’ll have to demonstrate these traits through the power of conversation instead.

Black

Although originally kept in the wardrobe for mourning, black is now worn for various occasions by many fashion followers. Similar to red, black can be perceived as the colour of self-assurance – 56% of women said that it inspired confidence. Other comments included that the colour black made the wearer appear more intelligent and sexy – perfect for a first date!
Black is renowned for being worn at classy events. Too much black can be overpowering, so if you opt for a black shirt you should avoid pairing it with a black jacket, pants and shoes too. It is a versatile colour and don’t be afraid to mix and match, for example denim jeans and a black shirt is a good casual outfit for many events.

White

White was another colour that rated high in terms of clothing. It was perceived to be the least arrogant colour and instead gave off the impression that the wearer was full of optimism!
A white shirt is a nice and classic look for when you are trying to impress at a formal event. However, during research, it was the definitive white t-shirt and jeans combo that caught women’s eyes and was perceived to be the more attractive look for a man.

Ones to avoid

There are also some colours to avoid when it comes to choosing a shirt. In many surveys revolving around the attractiveness of colour, orange and brown consistently performed poorly. They often are perceived as quite boring, drab colours although a bright orange shirt could brighten up an outfit nicely on a summer’s day.
Pink didn’t go down very well either. Only 5% of people thought that intelligent people would wear this colour!

Other tips

When choosing a coloured shirt consider the following tips too:
·    . Many men look great in a colour that matches their eyes, if you have green eyes perhaps opt for a moss green shirt- a popular colour this season
·    . Avoid wearing dark colours if you have a light complexion, this can really draw your skin tone out and make you appear paler
·    . If you have dark hair, opt for bright colours as these are likely to complement you more.

I am a denim girl, i literally live in my denim majority of the year long!! Last year i did a post on the denim trends of the year and today i am sharing the denim trends from the past the present and what lies ahead in the future.

denim trends past present and future, pearl denim, ripped denim, straight leg denim, how to wear denim, fresh way to wear denim, off shoulder blouse, pearls, london, london blogger, uk blogger, uk blog, lomdon blog, gucci bag, effortless chic outfit, parisian chic, wear in london, zara denim, zara pearl slippers, indian blogger

From bell bottoms in the 1960s to extreme ripped jeans in 2018, denim has certainly been through a lot since the release of the blue jean 145 years ago. So, which were the trends that really took off? And, what can we expect from denim in the future?

A step back in time

The blue jean was originally designed as durable workwear for labourers in America back in 1873. But how did denim trends change through the decades?
It wasn’t until the 1950s when denim jeans exploded onto the fashion scene — seen as a rebellious statement. In the 1950s, the straight-legged jean was predominantly worn by males; actors and singers were the ones leading the rugged-look trend.
In the 1960s, when peace and love prevailed, the denim jean entered its hippie phase. Women were now embracing the versatile trouser — it was all about casual styles, bell bottom flares and low-rise fits. The relaxed fit represented the culture at the time and jeans became a staple wardrobe item for everyone.
Denim jackets came onto the scene in this era, and double denim was more than acceptable. Stone washes and bright embroidery were also popular around this time — encouraging DIY denim and personalisation of jean pockets and jackets.
With sales of denim jackets and jeans soaring, there was no stopping designers of the material. Denim skirts and vest tops became big in the 1970s with the celebrities endorsing the style, too.
Up until this point, denim jeans weren’t very fitted — or feminine, for that matter. In 1980, interest in designer denim started to increase and premium brands began to emerge. Leg cuts became skinnier and more fitted, creating a feminine silhouette and a more tailored look for females. It was also around the 1980s when ripped jeans came into fashion and acid wash became popular — a trend that’s toned down since then.
Denim trends were still emerging in the 1990s too. The rise of hip hop encouraged men and women to wear baggy jeans, often revealing their underwear beneath. Thankfully, this trend didn’t stay mainstream for long but denim overalls and ‘shortalls’ have remained at the forefront of fashion, even today.
The early 2000s paved the way for ultra low-rise jeans, when showing off your midriff was a fashion must-do. Flared trousers also made a comeback, accompanied by a subtler version with the bootcut. Innovations, such as denim stretch technology, meant that skinny jeans were now skinnier than ever and sales from premium brands such as Citizens of Humanity soared.
From then until now, skinny jeans have been most popular — available in a range of washes and fits, they can be dressed up or down for men and women.

What’s hot this season?

Fast-forward to the present day, what’s big this season?
As the sun starts shining and garden parties become more frequent, we’re seeing more people rocking light coloured washes. From lilacs to pastel yellow, denim has certainly transformed from its classic indigo blue colour.
When it comes to cuts and fits, it’s all about denim culottes and cropped legs. Paired with classic summer sandals and a cross-body bag, this look is all about smart casual with a hint of flare inspired by the 1960s.
The hems of jeans are also receiving some attention, it’s these small details that really stand out. Split hems have been popular, adding an edge to a traditional skinny jean. We’ve also seen some lace embroidered hems that add a girly twist to the classic jean.
Of course, denim jackets never go out of fashion either. They’re classic yet contemporary and complement the ‘layering’ trend of recent seasons. Pair with casual culottes and a printed tee, or a floaty summery dress for a stylish summer look.
For the male fashionistas among us, it’s all about straight legs and turn up hems. Styled with on-trend checked patterns, it’s a contemporary twist on a classic look.

Future denim trends

What can we expect from the future when it comes to denim trends?
There are constant developments to improve the wear and tear of denim. This could encourage even longer-lasting denim and therefore one type of jean being fashionable across more than one era. There is also a focus on sustainable denim, as manufacturers try to use recyclable materials and create new blends and standalone fibres.
When it comes to fashion styles, they’re hard to predict. But, we’ve seen the revival of the 1960s and the 1980s this season through a range of trends, so who knows what next season holds. Could it be the return of rhinestone pockets and bell bottom flares?

I can proudly say i have worn most of the variations in denim, tried to link many of my looks so you can check them by clicking on the words and i can't wait for the next!!

There’s no standard hen party anymore — and, they’re not all about alcohol and clubbing as some people might think when they hear ‘hen do’! Instead, it’s all about celebrating the bride-to-be as she surrounds herself with her closest friends and bridesmaids.

your ss18 guide to dressing for all kinds of hen parties, indian blogger, uk blogger, london logger, sanderson london, flower swing london, dress for hen, style tips, uk style tips

The hen party usually involves something that the bride enjoys — so, whether this is a spa day, afternoon tea or a night of dancing: what should you be wearing?
Spa days
If you and the girls are heading on a relaxing spa day, you still want to look stylish for the photographs while wearing something comfortable for lazing around the pool.
A spa day is ideal for sipping bubbly, dipping in and out of the hot tub and gossiping in the sauna — an all-round winner for a girly day out. But when you pop out of the jacuzzi, you want to dry off quickly — so a bathrobe is essential. Why not order all the girls matching robes with ‘bride’ and ‘hen’ on the back — perfect for that Instagram post by the pool!
Now, it’s time to decide on swimwear. A full swimsuit is usually more acceptable in a spa rather than a bikini you’d wear to the beach — but put on what you feel most comfortable in. If you’re going to be lying by the pool all day, you want something that you feel comfy both in and out of the water. Don’t hesitate in wearing a swimsuit with a pop of colour or embellishment, like frills. You’re at a party after all! And make sure you pack your fluffy sliders and flip-flops for the perfect base to any spa pool outfit.
Spa lunches and evening drinks are always popular, so consider what you’re going to wear to these, too. Luxury spas sometimes have a certain dress code you should bear in mind — so keep it classy and understated. Peplum tops and skinny-sit trousers look gorgeous for lunch dates and evening get-togethers or why not opt for a stripe, culotte jumpsuit with a belt and pair of suede, ankle-wrap sandals? Finish with a tote bag or quilted clutch and be prepared for all eventualities at your hen spa weekend.

Partying
A hen do is the perfect excuse to take your girls’ nights out to the next level! No matter where you go, you’ll want to look sensational on a hen do night out. So, plan your outfit ahead of schedule.
In SS18, styles that reflect the amazing trends of the 1980s are in. Go for high-waisted shorts and a square-shoulder satin blouse or try a ruched velvet dress with huge hoops and a chunky necklace. Fusing different, bold shades in one look is also a top trend from recent global fashion shows, but don’t forget that asymmetric cuts, figure-hugging fabrics and bare shoulders are also ideal for the party look. Go for an off-the-shoulder bodycon that emphasise your curves and match with statement jewellery and killer heels to lengthen your legs.

During-the-day cocktails
It’s daytime, but this is a very special occasion and you still want to look dressed up. So, what can you do?
If this is the chilled event before the big night time event, then you need a look that takes you from am to pm without the need of a costume change. Think skinny leather jeans with mid-heel boots and a shimmery, metallic-embellished cami with a subtle diamante head chain, or pull on a high-waisted print skirt and match with a crop top or bodysuit and strappy heels.
You can even pull on a glamourous, bare-shoulder shift dress with cute pumps and a neutral kimono for cocktails, then simply switch to stilettos, throw on statement jewellery and roll-up your kimono so it fits in your envelope bag for the night!

Afternoon tea
Perhaps your soon-to-be-bride is a no-fuss kind of girl and wants all her nearest and dearest to attend a fun — but sophisticated — afternoon tea for her hen do. If so, make sure all the girls put the same amount of outfit-prep effort in as they would for a big night out by investing in chic occasion dresses. Think elegant and fun — bold floral prints, pastel colours, and stylish hem and necklines evoke the perfect air of old-time glamour.
Frill-front dresses in a baby pink, subtle peach, soft lemon, or powder blue shade will look ideal for an afternoon tea hen do. Wrap-round and Bardot styles will also ooze sophistication and offer figure-flattering outlines, or you can go for simple but effective chic in a midi or maxi dress with a shot chiffon jacket in a complementary shade. We recommend dressing up your look with simple jewellery, a clutch bag and low-heel court shoes — dressed to impress but comfortable enough for a few hours of food and drinks.

Girly nights in
Everyone loves a girls’ night in — perhaps even as much as a night out. If you’re celebrating your hen do indoors with your best friends, then make sure comfort is your priority.
Why not embrace the athleisure trend that’s taking the world by storm right now — spearheaded by celebrity fashionistas like Rihanna? Pair a pair of skinny joggers with a casual crop top and over-sized jacket or go for leggings and high-top trainers with a slouch sweater and headscarf for a contemporary, urban look.
A cute pair of shorts or even an on-trend skort with a block-colour cami or plain tee would also get the balance between style and comfort right at a night-in hen do. And if you’re wondering about footwear, we say go for sandals, flats or espadrilles.

Dressing for hen parties can be simple. Keep these hen do style tips in mind and make sure you pack the right outfits ahead of the do.

I wore this easy breezy outfit for a day out with my girlfriend around chelsea. The temp was soaring but my cool dress, easy sandals and my fun but very practical ( it holds everything) bag kept a spring in my step to frolic around.
