Black is beautiful they say, looking at these pictures i will agree! A fan of neutrals but more of the other neutrals i.e white, grey and nude, black is fine and i love but do not gravitate towards it as such for clothes, for accessories yes, anyways it is the strongest and the truest neutral of all, many of us are die hard fans and for obvious reasons black takes a good size in every girls wardrobe. Summers are here and that means gorgeous dresses, skirts, playsuits and the likes and why can't you wear them in the colour that you love so much!!! Of course you can just follow these simple tips to make your black summer appropriate.
- Choose one in lightweight breathable fabric like cotton, even though the black colour attracts heat since the fabric is weather appropriate you will stay comfy.
- Cutouts and mesh, like my fishnet dress in todays look are airy and keep the ventilation going.
- Wear fun bags and i have to say the Cath Kidston bags are made for all the summer feelings, gorgeous florals and fun prints scream spring summer. From bag packs to slings to shoulder bags to totes to cross body to wallets to clutches they have it all. This painted Pansies bag can be worn as a cross body as well as an evening clutch sans the strap and i am all in for things that serve me in a number of ways. Even though you are wearing black the pop of gorgeous print makes you look dressed for summer.
- Shoes are important and mules/ slides should be your choice this year.
- Since you love black so much wear ur black top but with a colour or printed bottom. Summery culottes and shorts are good options. I think with shorts and culottes you can get away with an all black look too.
- Wear you hair in a braid. My hair is mostly in a braid all year long but braids have a very summery vibe. Obviously when its hot and sweaty you don’t want ur hair everywhere. This fishtail side braid literally takes about 5 mins, i know i am quite practiced but even for beginners should not be tough. Plus it gives a boho vibe which also adds to the summer feelings.
What i wore- Bag- CATH KIDSTON, Dress- BOOHOO (currently at 50%dis), Mules- ASOS

Hey everyone
There are some misconceptions going around about street style, like street style is pairing some obnoxious things together, wearing micro shorts, its not everyones cup of tea, etc etc. Well those can be street style but street style is definitely not just that so today i thought of clearing some doubts as well as suggesting how you can get your street style going aka dress like a street style pro:
- The number one and the easiest way is to wear sneakers with anything and everything. Specially white sneakers. They make even your most elegant dresses and things look cool which is what street style is. I am literally obsessed with my white sneakers, be it travelling or home they are my go to shoes. And rightly so, the comfort is unmatched, when you are out and about and your feet hurt there is no way you are going to look cool, not even close. Plus they actually look good paired with absolutely anything in a girls wardrobe.
- Another sure shot way is to mix masculine and feminine pieces, think pairing a boyish trouser with ruffled top and the likes. The clash of the mood of something masculine with something feminine creates a very street style vibe.
- An extension of point number 2, is going for a look that is a Juxtaposition of different styles, moods and silhouettes. I love mixing different styles like a very casual dress with a very glamorous earring and the likes. A key to street style is combining unexpected pieces, pieces that are not usually paired together.
- Sunnies and statement handbags work well for street style. Even if you are wearing a minimal outfit just by putting a pair of reflecting sunglasses on or a fun bag (think pattern, embroidery, shape, fun straps or handle) you can get many street style points.
- Playing with fashionable accessories, there are always those few trendy items that you see all the street style stars rocking, if they match your style try to incorporate them in your outfits, For e.g neckerchiefs were huge last year and this year corset belts and fishnets are huge, i love to wear them whenever i can, in this outfit i think the fishnet socks are the game changer, winning major street style brownie points. Also tying my scarf on my bag was a great thing to do, so play around with those fun accessories.
- Anything frayed or ripped or unusually slit automatically lends a street style vibe.
- Do not make it perfect. The key to street style is in the rawness. So if your outfit is inching towards elegance keep ur hair messy and so on.
- Mix prints, like in todays look my printed bag with my printed skirt and scarf.
- Slogan/ graphic tees are street style winners.
- Try to be updated with the latest trends because the reason we look up to and love street style stars is because they are the first to start rocking the latest trends.
- Last but not the least is the attitude of a street style star, wear whatever like you own it.
Todays look incorporates many of those points above so i hope it is easier for you to follow, my skirt is from EAST, it actually is a set with this jacket i wore during London Fashion week, see i told you how great matching sets are. The prints at East are literally obsessing, there is not even one that i don't like and want, lol!! This Lucille printed pleated skirt is also very lightweight and i love how it moves with my move!!!.

Hey everyone
Think spring summer and you automatically think of prints like florals and stripes, they are there and will always be but the print that you got to be wearing in 2017 is the Gingham. Till sometime back most of us wouldn’t have thought anything about this vintage print but it has become bigger and bigger after it started trending in 2015. I was caught by it refer this post, back then and after seeing it on the ss17 and aw17 runways in London and Milan i knew it was going to be the print of the year.
Today i want to talk to you about a very important topic i.e how and when to know that a particular trend will be in trend for sometime so you go ahead and buy it,
because there are always so many trends and whats the point of buying a trend if you just wear it once and its gone.
- Go to fashion stores like Zara, H&M, Topshop, Mango every couple of months to see what pieces are on display and in what number. You can gauge the mood, for e.g embroidery is in at the moment so if you walk into Zara you will see it on the denims, shoes, shirts, blouses everything so that is an indicator that a particular trend is quite huge and seeing it in all forms says that it is here for atleast a couple of seasons so you are safe to buy. I say these brands because they along with ASOS are the top high street fashion brands that take the trends from the runways of Paris, London, Milan, New York to produce pieces for global consumption at a very fast pace. And they are present everywhere.
- If you do not have any of those stores mentioned above in your city/ town, just go to their online stores and check the editorials, whats new and trending. Worth mentioning here is ASOS which is where i go first.
- Follow these brands, street style stars, editors and bloggers on social media particularly instagram. I would say at least follow the best in the world. When you see top bloggers and editors wearing something repeatedly it is given that the trend is here to stay.
- Go to fashion weeks not just to see whats on the runway but also the street style because in todays social media age fashion is being made and reinvented by the people on the streets. And if you cannot go physically do so virtually.
- As for my part i obviously go to the fashion weeks in London, Milan and Delhi, read fashion magazines, follow and observe the most stylish and fashionable people like Dilleta Bonaiuti, Alexa Chung and the likes, who make trends and i try to put all that i learn here on the blog so obviously if you come here you will know as well what to do with the trends.

Hey everyone
The weather in Delhi has been miserable, it always is around this time and i wouldn’t really want to be here in the summers but thats life, it is what it is, anyways the good things about Delhi are the many exhibitions and fairs that take place, showcasing talent and art from all parts of India. Yesterday i went for the 8th edition of India Runway week 2017, It is the youngest fashion week in Asia and introduces new talent and places young Indian designers firmly on the global fashion stage.
I wore my go to look for this spring summer, updated jeans and updated white blouse with my crushed velvet mules. You will see all these pieces in full outfit posts soon.
This year the special focus is on the weavers of India. India is a well known authority for the export of hand woven fabrics to the world but the weavers being at the bottom of the hierarchy have faced quite a lot of exploitation. India Runway week has joined hands with four organizations that have been working closely with the weavers, Rangsutra, SoCHE, Banka Silk and Gestures by Kriti, raising the weavers voice and generating livelihood for hundreds of rural artisans. They have also made a significant contribution to the lives of the women artisans helping improve their economic as well as social status. Helping not only the artisans become wage earners, but also spreads awareness about the traditional crafts of the region, thus helping preserve a rich part of India’s national cultural heritage while producing products for global consumption.
For rescuing us bloggers from drained batteries and stuff the IRW partnered with Colorbar cosmetics to set a fashion shuttle. Colorbar also launched its new range of makeup products for spring summer, feel the rain, the packaging of the products is really cool with the effect of water droplets making you feel like its raining to escape the summer heat. I loved the eyeshadows that were powder but looked like cream also the blush duo which has optical illusion properties to give the perfect selfie.
I really loved the use of traditional indian weaves at the Rangsutra show and was particularly impressed by the styling.
Thank you for stopping by! See you with my next.

Thinking about what to wear on a trip to the Cotswolds, the obvious answers are jeans, tee and comfy shoes and depending on the weather the right outer layer which can be a light jacket for spring summer or a thick jumper with an overcoat for autumn winter or a combination of those. The night before my trip i was deep in thoughts thinking what to pack, what to pack so i don’t have to pack any of the items i mentioned above. Yes, I wanted to wear something different, something that was special that would also be a treat for the locals to see and this matching set from my favourite brand East came to my mind.
Matching sets as i have said make the perfect holiday/ trip companion because there are easily 3 outfits in 1 and this particular set was kinda made for my trip, so to say, not only the long midi with a lightweight waterfall jacket left many options for layering but also the colour and the beautiful tulip print very special, out there but not flashy. The temp was around 12 degrees in mid march so there was no way i could have worn it as it is while exploring during the day and my plan was and it also came through, to wear the set with a hoodie sweatshirt underneath the jacket (skirts with hoodies make the most effortless street style looks) and my super comfy golden booties and socks to go out exploring and with a velvet cami top, which i was wearing underneath the sweatshirt as well during the day, and a pair of heels for dinner in the evening. Both very practical outfits and did not need much change, take the sweatshirt off, switch the shoes and done!!!
What i wore- Matching set- EAST ( skirt , jacket) , Shoes ( simillar) cami- asos, sweatshirt (similar)
When the walking made me hot i could take the jacket off and was comfy throughout the day. So its really important, specially in the english countryside that you choose an outfit with layers, pick your shoes to be the comfiest to keep you going and if just like me you want to look special and treat the locals, choose a matching set. P.s i got many compliment throughout the day!!!!
