How to wear a black dress in summer 2016

Hey everyone! Surprise surprise the one item of clothing which is in every girls closet or should be in every girls closet, the black dress is a big trend for spring summer 2016. But with the updated details like off shoulder, interesting back, lace, pom poms, crochet, etc. in cotton, linen and other summery fabrics. 

A black dress is your best bet when you are unsure of the occasion whether its formal or casual, when everything else fails, when you want to look your trimmest possible, when you definitely want to look chic, when you are traveling  and n other such situations. I think Karl Lagerfeld had once put it best ‘one is never overdressed or underdressed with a little black dress’ and todays outfit puts just that. Its a body con dress and body cons have a formal appeal but with the converse it looks perfect for a day out around town.

I wore this outfit on a day out exploring cologne, Germany. The weather was good but it could have rained anytime and brought the temps down to around 15 degrees celsius so outerwear was mandatory so i  got my denim jacket which looks great with black and also looks super cool tied around the waist and since the day involved walking around i couldn’t have thought of anything other than sneakers and converse are my fav as they look good with everything. To add more summer to my look i added the fun yellow tassel earrings as a pop of color and to also chanel the taxi vibe in a subtle way. I also took my camel satchel bag instead of black and was surprised at how good black and camel looked together and how camel lightened up the whole look. Todays look also highlights basics. And for my trip i mostly packed  basics like in this outfit my denim jacket, white sneakers,  black dress, brown bag, etc  with few statement pieces and 10 days down the trip i still don't feel the need for anything #basicsarethebest #basicsserveyou.
