in the blue

Hey everyone!, hope u are all doing well. The weather here has been so unpredictable that i am unsure how to dress, most days. Some days it feels we are set for rising temps and some days it feels gloomy and cold again. This Sunday, a friend and i had planned to go to this food festival in Nehru park with many good bakery's and deli's putting their stalls. It also had a cool music scene with some rocking rock bands ( rocking rock bands, ok!, thats cool) performing live.

It was raining on Saturday night but i thought the weather would clear out on Sunday. I guess i forgot what 'the wise women' say about Saturday rains, if it begins to rain on Saturday it continues for 3 days non stop. I woke up to a cold and gloomy weather on Sunday and checked the forecast, which was thunderstorm and shower. Going to a park with prediction of rain seemed like a bad idea but friend was super excited for this festival so we decided to go ahead with the plan. Though we were up early, 8.30 am, which is very early and unusual for us on a Sunday, we decided, to laze around a bit and  see how the weather behaves, and to leave around 2. On Sunday we could reach in 15 min so we could be there for lunch.

Now the biggest task was to decide, what to wear? for such a weather. I had given all my winter clothes for dry clean apart from two lightweight sweaters and two blazers. This pale blue sweater was one of them. Pale blue/ powder blue suits me amazingly and makes my complexion glow like no other. I guess i just needed that for the dull and gloomy day which was making my mood a little blue. I decided to go with the whole blue thing and chose, stone bleached denim shirt and comfy printed navy jeggings. Choosing items of different shades of the same color  is a great way of putting your outfits together.  It creates curiosity and visual engagement. Another plus of this outfit, is the well gelled prints. The print on the sweater and the jegging is different but they work well cos the base colors are well matched. To compliment the glow this color gave me i went ahead with flushed rosy cheeks and bright fuchsia lips which also happened to match my shoes, these bright pink cap toed flats, apt for the park and the walking. And the silver hooped earrings added that extra feminity to the whole look. Being on trend, Yay! I parted my hair at the center.

Overall, I sort of fought the gloominess of the day with this look which kept me in great spirits. This and some flower therapy, should admit.
