Its been coming to me for sometime now and this year i finally decided to practice slow style with determination. Well, you have heard of sustainable fashion that is brands that use materials that are eco friendly, pay right wages to their workers and follow a whole lot of ethical practices with the aim to take care of the environment. To only purchase and wear from such brands would be the ultimate goal but as of now with my lifestyle i can't really make 100% commitment to it. I would try more and more each year and hopefully soon get there but as of now what i could 100% commit to is Slow Style.
What i wore - Jumper & Trousers- H&M, Boots- River Island
Now what is slow style? Its a slower pace of consuming fashion. To not be moving from one trend to another and be all fashion fashion. Its about re wearing pieces in our wardrobe in different ways and styles. Its about buying less items. Its about not buying things just because they are cheap. Its about practicing less and being happy with less.
This post is an intro to the whole concept and i would go deeper into the topic in the next post.

Learning anything just for the hell of it doesn't sound like a lot of fun for a lot of us. But maybe languages can be the exception to that? Because learning a language isn't just about learning a load of new words and how to put them together, it's about finding out more about other cultures and ways of living as well. Here are some benefits of learning a language that you might not have thought about.
Work
Just the fact that you've taken the time to
learn a second language can be an amazing career boost. Think about it; if you
learn a language you are dedicating time to improving yourself, great at
organising, able to take on new ideas, and clearly are a multitasker. According
to Benny from www.fluentin3months.com,
a second language on your CV opens doors; even if the job you go for doesn't
actually need you to speak that second language!
Mind
If you can organise your work, social life,
spending time with your family, and all the other stuff you do in your life at
the same time as learning a new language, people will be envious of your
organisation skills. And it's good for your mind; it's basically like giving
your brain a good workout. If nothing else, learning a second language is going
to do amazing things for memory!
Experience
Going on holiday? How much better is it
going to be if you're going somewhere you can speak your second language in?
Imagine browsing through websites like www.french-podcasts.com,
and next thing you know, you’re sitting in a cafe in Paris ordering coffee and
croissants in French instead of having to say it in English? The whole
experience will be better just for speaking French. You'll be able to find your
way around easier, read signs in shops or on posters without having to
translate anything, and get to see the real, actual France. Why wouldn't you
want that?
Entertainment
Ever browsed Netflix and
thought about how many films or shows you might be missing out on because
they're in other languages? Learning a second language helps with that too!
Even if you start out with English subtitles. Imagine how many series there are
just waiting for you to binge watch? And it's the same for online. How many
Instagrams do you follow where you just look at the images and don't read what
they say because it's in another language?
Open-minded
When we get to see the world only through
our press and media, it's pretty one-sided. Imagine getting a better idea of
what is really happening by reading the views from a newspaper or watching news
in another language? “Learning a new
language makes us think more about others anyway because we get to see how
other people live” says https://www.languagetrainers.co.uk/
in their latest Instagram
post. But the opportunity to see more than our side of a story is a huge
benefit of language learning because we get to think outside of just what we
know. Plus, the more languages you speak the more people you get to speak to.
How many friends are there out in the world waiting to get to know you!

Lets brighten our winter by wearing a bright green jumper and visiting a London cafe ladden with pink flowers.
A bright jumper is just what i need to fight the gloomy weather. This one is from H&M. And it was super cheap, just £7 in the sale. The trousers are also from H&M. The fit is perfect and super elongating! I have literally lived in these River Island mountain boots since this autumn. It is my only shoe purchase in about 5 months and i can't help but pat myself for getting value out of every penny of the £70 spent on it.
Elan cafe is just one of those places where you like to go to feel good or to brighten your mood, don't they mean the same thing, anyways. If i am not wrong there are 4 of them in London now with plans for more. This one is on Market place just 2 mins from Oxford circus station. The flower wall is super instagram famous as you can tell. Food is good. I love their mediterranean bread with eggs and tomatoes. The spiced chai latte doesn't look like tea and its actually not TEA TEA but its a nice drink that wouldn't offend the tea lovers.

The title of the post gave it to you that this colourful piece of geography, Portmeirion, is in the UK otherwise most whether from UK or elsewhere would have struggled hard and in all probability said this place is in Italy or Greece.
We stopped at Portmeirion for 5-6 hours while visiting Wales. And i have to admit that i was absolutely awe struck and couldn't believe that such a vibrant, colourful and unique village that had Italy written all over it was actually part of the UK. The United Kingdom surprises you beyond bounds if you dare to explore.
1. A bit of history - Portmeirion is a tourist village in Gwynedd, North Wales. It was designed and built by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis between 1925 and 1975 in the style of an Italian village
2. How to get to Potmeirion- Its a perched in so does not have its own train station. The nearest one is Minffordd station which has connections from all parts of the UK. From Minffordd, Portmeirion is a 20 min walk. If staying in The Portmeirion hotel you can ask for a free shuttle from Minffordd station. You can easily find out the best route for your time of travel on Google maps or Rome2rio.
3. There is an entry fee to get inside the village which i didn't expect. The village is maintained by a charity and the entry fees goes into the maintenance and welfare of the village.
4. On the coastline of Wales it one of the best seaside places to holiday in the UK. A great place to honeymoon as well in the UK. The Portemeirion hotel is right on the waterfront but i am sure you can find fab airbnbs in the village.
5. Their are a few open air small restaurants and tea rooms in the village. The food is good. Definitely satisfy the hungry tourist. We reached at about 12 and after a bit of exploring had an Italian lunch. Then explored a bit more and had tea. There are many gelato shops too.
6. Wander around the streets soaking into all the ornate Italian touches. Beautiful manicured gardens with the loveliest flowers. Rolling hills on one side and coastline on the other. One can spend hours and hours in this lovely paradise but just for reference, at a stretch you can cover the whole village in about 2 hours or so.
7. We also went on a group hiking trail further deep in the village. Surrounded by loads of fauna and ended it at a beautiful lake which seemed like in the middle of nowhere.
8. Near the coastline is a beautiful structure of white and blue which reminded me of Greece actually.
9. There is a cave trail as well near the coastline, quite fun for kids.
10. Portmeirion is an absolute heaven for Instagrammers. Just look at the spots.
11. You can also do some shopping of beautiful pottery when there.
We were in Portmeirion for 5-6 hours and were able to check out the whole village, take beautiful pictures and also have lunch plus tea. Definitely like a definite one to add to your itinerary when visiting wales. And A MUST VISIT PLACE in the UK that also deserves to be chosen for a night or two of relaxation. Portmeirion, truly special, well deserves a spot in top colourful places to visit in Europe.

Cant believe Valentines day is already here. Valentines day is almost a universal holiday of sorts celebrating love and as a person up for celebrations i do like it.
Rising up to the challenge of finding a suitable gift on Valentine’s Day for the woman who seems to have everything, and if you have yet to decide upon a Valentine’s Day gift for the woman in your life, it isn’t too late. Here are a few great Valentine’s gift ideas that are guaranteed to please.
A Workplace Delivery – If you can be sure
that she will be in the office at a given time, why not have your gift
delivered to her office? If you have the gift delivered in the afternoon, she
will probably think you have forgotten and will receive a lovely surprise when the package unexpectedly arrives, and for good effect, you can add a
bunch of red roses and a romantic card.
Sterling Silver Jewellery – No matter her style, sterling silver jewellery is a sound bet, and something stylish from an online design collection would be appropriate. There are stylish necklaces and bracelets you can get from Silver by Mail in the UK for a Valentine gift, and the items will arrive well in time for the big day. Buying from an online jeweller has many advantages, not least the lower prices, and they generally have a much wider selection of items, which makes selection that much easier. There are some great silver jewellery images online that might give you some inspiration.

Power Bank – She probably has her phone to her ear constantly and would definitely
appreciate having power on the move. There are several options, and choose one
that allows for several full charges, which is more than enough for any
business tycoon. Select a colour that she likes, and you could also buy her a
smartphone case, if she doesn’t already have one.
A Desk Organiser – If she hasn’t gone
completely digital, she would no doubt love a desk organiser, which she can use
to plan her busy week. You know her routine and her preferences, and if she
would prefer something a little more romantic, why not book a special weekend getaway?
A Relaxing Spa Day – This might be
difficult to arrange, especially if she is always on the move. Buy her a spa
voucher that she can use whenever she has the time, and she will certainly
appreciate a day of pampering, which will charge her batteries. If she’s the
adventurous type, why not book her an experience gift? She can go skydiving or
drive a Ferrari around a race track, and you can accompany her for the surprise
of a lifetime.
A Surprise Car Detail – If you can manage to
borrow her car for the day, have it cleaned, waxed and detailed, then return it
without saying a word. If you have a set of keys, then drive it away while
she’s at work and have it returned before she leaves, which will be a nice
surprise for any woman.
The above are just a few ideas and with the clock ticking, you shouldn’t
leave to too long before making a decision. You still have time to order
sterling silver jewellery online, and with a Google search, you can browse a
wide range of designer jewellery, and with a secure online payment, your gift
will be on its way. You can check this post for different ways to celebrate Valentines day and this post for some fun insights into valentines day.
