No matter how much you love winters, one month down the cold season, dressing up really becomes a task, specially chic and stylish! I mean all we want is have clothes on and be warm, fashion and style almost takes a back seat.I used to be like that too but i came up with a few tricks that help me keep looking on top of my style game after all i believe in the power of a good outfit on a bad day aka also a grey day! And today i am sharing my 8 easy tips to follow to make a chic style statement in winter outfits -
- wear a statement outerwear, think colour, prints and embroidery so you can still stand out even if wearing an all black or a neutral outfit.
- keep the colours in your whole look limited to a max of 3-4, different shades of one colour is fine. Since we wear layers we might get carried away with colours but to keep the outfit looking chic and put together dont mix too many colours.
- specially for this year wear an updated bottom. ones with embroidery or frayed or fringed tasseled hems or a different fit like a straight leg so to look trendy even if paired with simple classics like a high neck knit or a blazer.
- keep the outfit neutral and take the leverage with footwear, seriously there are too many trendy options this year like velvet boots, embroidered footwear, ballerina flats, white and nude footwear look very fresh.
- wear a hat or a beret to add extra chic points to the look.
- choose one statement accessory and let it speak could be a handbag or earrings or necklace.
- a high neck or polo neck knit or top always makes a look polished and chic.
- play with proportions when layering outfits e.g a long shirt inside and a cropped jumper.Todays outfit is a great example of how to work with the above rules. I am wearing 3 statement pieces (statement outerwear, refreshed denim and trendy footwear) which can be too much but the look is still chic because i kept the colours limited to 3 and wore a high neck knit inside. What i wore- Coat- Lightinthebox, Denim- Lightinthebox, high neck knit- Asos, Boots- 4thand recklessWhat i wore- Coat- Lightinthebox, Denim- Lightinthebox, high neck knit vest- Asos, Boots- 4thand reckless
Checks are my fav print in winter, shirts, bottoms, outerwear, bags i love it all and i couldn’t be happier about this red and blue plaid coat. The colours work well with most of my winter wardrobe of neutrals and its really my sure shot piece to wear to get compliments. Having talked about the coat the denim is no less, fringed and step hem perfect to spice up the most classic outfits. They are both from lightinthebox, i am very impressed with the delivery, the fastest of all similar sites and loving sooo many of their other check coats, they literally have all the colours and styles!
Hope the above tips are helpful in keeping you chic and stylish during winters! Are you a fan of statement outerwear or updated denims? Do you have other tips to make a statement with winter outfits? Please share in the comments.Thank you for stopping by! See you in my next one.LoveChichi

This is me in my most traditional form, i think indian clothes completely change me, do you agree? But let me tell you i feel the most beautiful in indian clothes, traditional indian clothes, not a fan of fusion much. The colours, the embroidery and the richness of the fabrics is just beyond gorgeous and make me feel like a princess or something.
I wore this lehnga for Vaibhav’s cousins wedding in Amritsar, Punjab, India in December last year. Amritsar in december is divine, the weather is perfect, the food, which in my opinion is the best in India, tastes even better and if you can be there for a punjabi wedding nothing like it. Those of you who follow me on instagram can recollect from the instagram stories i did while in the city.
What i wore- MISSDESICOUTURE
Now back to the outfit, it has been designed by our very talented UK designer, Tracy from MISSDESICOUTURE. Working with her was magic, she would almost always say what i was about to, which i think is because of her great understanding about indian fabrics, cuts and embroidery.
For weddings and indian ceremonies, i mostly try to wear traditional as also mentioned in my diwali post and i absolutely love Benarsi silk and mirror work which is also quite trending at the moment. Speaking of trends yellow and pink are hot too so i decided on those two colours. The hot pink gold detailing fabric of the lehnga was so rich and gorgeous that no embroidery was needed on it and i just got some mirror work on the top to balance the whole outfit and keep it stunningly and elegantly beautiful for the wedding.
What i wore- MISSDESICOUTURE
I mostly like to keep jewellery minimum when wearing such vibrant clothes and earrings are always my preferred jewellery to wear. Here i wore kundan earrings keeping the occasion in mind.
Do check out Tracy for any custom made indian wear needs for any occasion, she delivers worldwide. Would love to know ur thoughts on this special outfit. Also do you remember this new year party outfit post, where i wore the yellow top in a completely different way?
Thank you for stopping by! See you in my next one.

Hey everyone!
I believe in the power of words and quotes and of late i mostly go to pinterest to find them. Quotes inspire me, motivate me and also make me feel better at times so today i thought of sharing some of my new favourites in travel and style here.
travel
- lets wander where the wifi is weak.
- traveling makes you modest, you see the tiny space you occupy in the world
- the only trip you will regret is the one you don’t take.
- i am in love with the cities i have never been to and people i have never met..
- fill your life with adventures not things, have stories to tell not things to show.
- not all classrooms have four walls.
style
- forget the rules if you like it wear it.
- if you want to be original be ready to be copied.
- never underestimate the power of a good outfit on a bad day.
- style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.
- beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself.
- fashion is what you buy, style is what you do with it.

Sweatshirts are a staple in every girls wardrobe! They make the perfect weekend uniform but if styled appropriately they can work well for the weekdays too, wear them to office or meetings or even for a night out!!! Here’s how
To office/ meetings
- Like in todays look, wear over a formal striped shirt with dark pants and closed shoes.
- Wear on its own with tailored trousers and pumps.
- Paired with a pencil skirt and stilettos.
- Belt it to make the look polished.
For a night out
- wear over ur sequined dress and fancy heels.
- with a mesh or lace detail skirt.
- pair with a metallic mini and strappy heels.
- with leather pants.
Really loving the freshness nude heels add to dark trousers.
This sporty hoodie sweatshirt from Bewakoof is sooo versatile that i can totally imagine myself living in it. Bewakoof also has a great selection of Marvel T-Shirts, Jeans, Tees, Athleisure and Shorts. I am soon getting the graphic tees!!!!
When styling sweatshirts for a formal or chic look darker or neutral colours like black and grey are better.
Don't flared denims make you look miles long, i think they do!!!!!
Have you worn your sweatshirt to formal occasions? Hope this post was helpful! See you in my next one.

Hey everyone
Wish you a very very happy 2017!!!! A new year calls for changes and new priorities. My top 3 priorities for this year are travelling, getting more organized and having a better morning routine.
Lets talk about the first one today!
what i wore- jeans- lightinthebox, shoes- converse
I love to travel , read this post, everytime i travel i come home a changed person a better person so i highly recommend to see the world, the diff cultures and the landscape with your own eyes. This year i have decided to visit a new place could be a country or a city or a village or anything every month. I will also try to do a monthly review and write a blogpost on the new places i visit each month so to stay motivated and accountable!!!!!! Also look forward to creating more travel guides on the blog!!!!!
Most of us want to travel but don’t actually do it because of n reasons so here are my top 5 tried and tested real tips to help you make traveling a reality
Cut down on shopping- Traveling needs money no matter how cheap so i choose it as the first. We use a lot of our free money in shopping and by cutting down shopping you can have the cash for travel. I mean think about it how many pair of shoes do we really need!!! how many times do we really wear them!!!! and how long they last!!!! Traveling will give you memories that last a lifetime.
U can travel solo- its good to have a travel partner but so many times we can’t find one to go with to the place we really want to go, maybe your life partner is busy with work, friends and family are unavailable or if they are they don’t want to go to place you want so just cut it out, go solo and once you start to travel solo you will travel more often because you will just go whenever you have time.
Prioritize- we often make excuses so and so is not going right or we have n commitments which may be true but if you can prioritize travel as a must or the top things to do it’ll be a reality more often.
Follow travel accounts/ bloggers on social media- after all they are humans and most often do not have a fancy travel budget to begin with so seeing them go to these places will keep you inspired in your own journey. Ill try to do a post listing some great accounts i follow for inspiration.
Ask for help- if you are caught up with work or responsibilities ask your friends or relatives to fill in for you and you can do it for them in return.
The two pictures are from my trip to Madagascar for new years, and that is also the reason for my break from the blog, i dint intend to take a break but there was hardly any internet in madagascar!!! sorry for not informing in advance! can't wait to share more about the trip!!!
Hope this post was helpful! See you in my next one
