Floral Styling for SS19

I am sure, like me, you enjoyed the lovely warm Easter we had. Being able to eat outside, go for a walk or spend time enjoying an outdoor activity really gives you a lift. It is good for you mentally, emotionally and physically.

But, make the most of the fine weather you need the right clothes. With this in mind, I have been visiting sites like JDWilliams to see what is available, so I can plan my spring and summer wardrobe.
One particular trend caught my eye. Florals are clearly back in style. It is a look that is perfect for all kinds of summer events and activities.
A floral print dress is the perfect option for the Chelsea Flower show which takes place on the 21st-25th May, this year. Potentially, later in the year, you could wear that same dress for a summer wedding. You would just need to buy some slightly brighter and glitzier accessories to add a touch more glamour to your outfit.
There are lots of ways to wear florals. Here are a few tips to help you to get the most out of this SS19 fashion trend.
Generally speaking, it is best to avoid mixing floral prints. It is possible, but you are more likely to get it wrong rather than right. So, it is better to wear a floral top with plain items of clothing. Naturally, if you have chosen to wear a floral skirt or trousers you will want to opt for a plain shirt, blouse or top.
The best way to pull the two halves of your outfit together is to choose items of clothing that will blend in with the main colour used in the floral print. This is a simple way of making sure that what you are wearing does not clash. It does not necessarily have to be the exact same shade.  Using a colour wheel is the best way to determine what your options are.
If floral prints are not your thing, you can still incorporate floral designs into your wardrobe. For example, a jacket or pair of jeans that feature a few embroidered flowers could still work for you. Another alternative is to combine a full-on floral print jacket, or coat, with a plain outfit. It is a stunning look that is worth trying. Usually, you will be pleasantly surprised by how good it will look on you.
Or you could choose to wear floral-themed jewellery. There are some lovely flowery scarves and wraps around, this year, which are perfect for keeping the chill of, in the evenings.
The best thing about floral prints is that they are easy to blend with new trends. For me, this is especially good news, because I am adopting a slowstyle approach to my wardrobe. That means buying ethically and opting for more eco-friendly fabrics. But, also wearing the clothes I buy for longer, which is where floral prints come into play. I will be looking for classically cut items, that I should be able to continue to wear, next year, and beyond.
