I am writing to you from the magical greek island Santorini. Sitting on a sofa in the terrace of our apartment, the sea is all my eyes can see and the the sound of the water is all my ears can hear. Bliss as they call it. Nature is bliss. In Greece everything is white and everything looks beautiful and that is making me write this post why white always does it, i have been wanting to write this post for long but being in Greece, i had to do the first.  I love white and out of a bunch of things in various colours i instinctively gravitate towards white, its also the colour or no colour i wear most often as you already have seen so its actually not be said that it is my favourite. That said today i am putting the top reasons why white works.

  1. White is a clean slate so everything/ all colours pop against it.
  2. Anything white automatically gives you a very pure, innocent, young and fresh vibe.
  3. Not just fashion white spaces look brighter and bigger as white reflects light as compared to all other colours that absorb light.
  4. It is an extremely versatile colour leaving you loads of colour combination options.
  5. White is traditional and classy as well as modern so it can be worn by people of all ages.
  6. It gets you all the attention. Imagine a room full of people and you walk in wearing all white, 100% you will make heads turn and be the centre of attraction.
  7. For its light reflecting properties it is a blessing in the summer and of course, if you live in a hot place like Delhi, where winters are hardly ever below 10 degrees celsius,  all year round. I think i love white more now because of my life in Delhi, just can’t think of any colour other than pastels and white on my body in that heat. Its almost a frightful sight to see someone in hot pink or red or any of those bright loud colours in Delhi. 45 degrees celsius and colour don’t go together.

See how the embroidery and the colours pop against white. It also kept me very comfortable during the whole day of exploring sunny Mykonos,  travel post coming soon.

Wedding is a dream, not only of the bride and groom but also of the families. Everything should be the most beautiful and go as smoothly. I remember when my sister was getting married 8 years back, the day the date was finalized my father started making list of things to do and allocating responsibilities. The first and the foremost thing he asked her was the kind of jewellery she would like. Even though she liked kundan and polki but she was very clear from the start that she wanted her bridal jewellery to be in pure gold. Marriage is pure and there is nothing as pure as gold that lasts not just a lifetime but a treasure to be passed to generations. It was also my grandmas choice for her for a totally different reason lol, according to her, i now think is the truth as well, it is easy to measure and calculate the price of gold as compared to kundan, polki or diamond for resale and gold has the minimum waste and depreciation, in other words its a better investment

So gold was decided and where to buy was super easy as well, India’s most loved jeweller- Tanishq. My father said when it comes to his daughters wedding jewellery his priority is the quality and Tanishq can be trusted blindly. Tanishq uses 22kt gold and their karatmeter is the most accurate way to check the purity of gold and they offer 100% exchange value at current prices. Not just this if you take your gold for exchange to Tanishq they melt it in front of you and not take it inside or somewhere so there is full trust.

As mentioned in this post 2 girls in my family are getting married so we are looking for all things wedding and we recently went to  the Tanishq store in South ext- 1 and were completely besotted by the new RIVAAH collection. Such great designs and the variety to suit any and every bride from all parts of India. Be it Punjabi/ Marathi/ Gujarati/ Bengali/ South or the others. I also specially loved that the pieces can be worked for the other pre and post wedding functions and even later on. For e.g the choker that i am wearing is good on its own and can be easily worn for cocktail with a dress and also very practical for wearing after the wedding and when paired with the long necklace it is perfect for the wedding day. So you do not dread the fact that you spend so much to buy jewellery that you only wear once. I also was in love with the earrings that come with the sets, it is my preferred jewellery to wear, you guys know how much i love them so i specially pay attention to the earrings before choosing a set and i have to say i really really loved the earrings. They can be worn on their own with any of the western clothes and will work really well for fusion looks. The staff at the store was very eager to help and all in all me and the girls were very happy with the collection, traditional but trendy certainly making gold fashionable and we can’t wait to bring our favs home.

Check online or drop in the South Ex - part 1 store to see it all !!

Hope this post is helpful with the wedding prep. Thank you for stopping by, see you with my next.

Stunning wedding jewellery for every indian Bride- Rivaah by Tanishq

Marriage is fixed in heaven they say, I believe too. An event that paints the beauty of contrasts like none other. Beautiful memories created out of massive stress that lead to the day. Deciding the venue, budget, invitations, vendors, caterers, florists, ceremonial planning and execution to name a few stress points out of the mile long list of things to do.

Luckily now with the digital and cultural evolution there are number of wedding management platforms emerging and flourishing to turn the lifetime dream into unsurpassed moments. A great one is Cherished Memories, a Delhi based luxury lifestyle Management and events company creating seamless and soulful experiences for couples with their credible team of planners with brilliant managerial skills but with an ethnic approach. I believe, to make up to a spectacular nuptial affair it takes an expert who can painstakingly understand a couple’s uniqueness in terms of style, hope and vision and then make it reflect in the actual event and the team at Cherished Memories delivers just that.

With a management company in tow all your wedding stress is gone and you can focus on choosing ur trousseau or looking your best and above all the days leading to the beautiful day can be beautiful as well.  I am also putting down a few points you must keep in mind when choosing a management company/ wedding planner

1.  Browse over their online and offline profile. Pictures talk a lot and a digital profile will help you have a vibe whether to connect or not.
2. Read and research about the venues they have been associated with.
3. Do not skip the testimonials.
4. How well does your budget and expectations sync is entirely based on clarity of conversations. After all accommodation of your vision is what you are paying for!
5. Scan the catalogue of services they offer.
6. Transparency in monetization clauses and vendors’ dealings is a must.
7. How many other clients they would be working with while working with you?
8. Last moment shoutouts need to be cop up with immense flexibility and patience. Make sure they do not underestimate the power of a difficult family member.
9. It’s a team game! Ensure the team is familiar with you on a comfortable note.
10. ‘Plan B must be thought before Plan A’ such should be the resourcefulness.

Also check on what you can compromise on. Say he is great with creativity, guest management, reliability, resources but little unorganized or may be bit unpunctual. What now? So do not forget to discover the slice of compromise you can afford for yourself otherwise it may end you up with last moment stress. And once tested, shrug off all your tensions over his shoulder, trust him to bring alive what you have been dreaming ever since.

Are you getting married? Is someone in your family? I hope this post is helpful, thank you for stopping by, see you with my next.

Gingham is the print of the year, actually it has been trending for 2 years now but this year its blown to magnificent proportions. I cannot be happier because i love it a lot and can’t stop myself from adding more and more pieces into my wardrobe. The stores are full of it and i can also see it on the streets in force, just the other day i was at Toni & Guy vasant vihar for the canaan mineral meni pedi and the the lovely girl at the front desk was wearing a very pretty gingham blouse with a pencil skirt and i was very happy to see that. So that brings me to the point i want to make i.e Gingham is not a restrictive print it works very well from casual to formal looks and from feminine to cool looks. You have already seen me wear this skirt in this all gingham outfit for a more formal and feminine look and today i am rocking it in a super casual cool attire.

Some might find Gingham a little intimidating or school girl type or tame but my lovely you need not be because it is very fun.

  1. For beginners just pair a gingham blouse with your skinny jeans and you are already fab.
  2. Choose pieces with more details like ruffles, frills, embroidery, origami etc to make it more 2017.
  3. Since the print is so out there keep your hair natural and accessories minimum.
  4. Pair your gingham blouse with tailored trousers for a more sleek look.
  5. A gingham skirt with a white tee (also black)  is a combination for the win.
  6. Gingham dress with strappy black heels will be evening appropriate.
  7. Black and white gingham is more wearable but do not be afraid from trying the zillion colours i specially recommend blue and pink.

What i wore- Tee- ASOS, Skirt- Zara, Bag- VVA, Slides- ASOS

The possibilities are actually endless and i will very soon show you an edgy gingham outfit.

Rocking my VVA again sans the handle because the new way to carry your handbag, no matter how big, is either on your hands or under your arms and the super versatile VVA always delivers.

Thank you for stopping by! See you with my next.

Italy is my favourite favourite country not only in Europe but the whole world. It just comes very naturally to me, the sense of ease of being one. I almost feel like i am home even though i can count on my fingers the number of italian words i know and understand. I think it has to do with being Indian, the informal culture, family run shops and restaurants, talking like no one can listen, the best food is still in the homes, there are many  street smart ways to get a work done, etc are just a few similarities to begin with. Anyways summers are ringing and that means trips and holidays and incase europe is on your list here are my top 6 reasons why you have to go to Italy.

gondola in venice, indian blog, indian blogger, top indian blog, indian luxury blog, uk blog, british blog, london blog, delhi blogger, delhi travel blogger, indian travel blog, italy, why u must visit italy, places to go in italy, italy food culture, italy travel guide, reasons to go to italy, must visit places on earth, must visit countries, summer trip, where to go in summer, italian people, europe trip, venice, indian and italian, real italy

  1. It has all the architecture and museums and art galleries in the world. And i cannot think of another country that even comes close. There is just so much to see and absorb and do and eat that literally you can go to Italy every year and still not do it all in your lifetime. As i write this post my mouth is salivating and my mind can only focus on how to get on the next flight to Italy.

These pictures are a collection from trips old and new, most before i even started blogging.

Check out my Milan travel guide.

Why you have to visit Italy

  1. It has all the architecture and museums and art galleries in the world. And i cannot think of another country that even comes close. In Venice there is a museum or art gallery at almost every other corner, you can be in Venice for more than a month and still not be able to do it all, just so much to see and absorb. Similar is the case of Florence and Rome. Italy is really swell with history and UNESCO world heritage sites.
  2. Food- Almost impossible to have a bad meal in Italy or you get seriously unlucky, the quality of food and produce is the bestest in the world. If you think Italian food is just Pizza and Pasta well then my friend you are going to be amazed beyond words. You reach a trattoria or osteria for dinner by 6.30-7 and this is what can follow 1.aperetivo which can be a small glass of house wine with freshly baked bread, 2. antipasti ( appetizer ) can be prosciutto or salami or sausage or bruschetta or cold cuts, etc 3. Primi which is your risotto, pizza, gnocchi, pasta, etc  and there are a gazillion varieties of pizzas and pastas in Italy, all  freshly made from the scratch. 3. Secondi- A meat or sea food dish, don’t get shocked if i tell you this is the main deal and very region specific. For e.g in Milan you can enjoy Bollito, in emilia romagna i.e bologna you will love cotoletta all bolognese, in tuscany Bistecca alla Fiorentina, in venice Fegato alla veneziana, and so is the case with every region. 4. Contorni which is a side dish of vegetables or salad. 5. Formaggi e frutta - local cheeses and fruits. 6 Dolce- the yummmyyyyy desserts, the best in the world. and finally to wash everything no 7. caffe i.e a shot of espresso.
  3. The people- Not even kidding, i am mostly in great mood in Italy because of the compliments i get from absolute strangers both men and women. ‘bellssima, bellissima’ and i just can’t stop blushing. But the Italians are not only a very charming lot but also a very helpful one or at least they try to help you out. Even if they don’t know english, if they understand what you are saying they will try their level best to guide you through expression or sign or their broken english.
  4. The mood- Informal, you don’t have to be prim and proper with what you say and how you eat or talk. Italy is pretty chilled out, just be.
  5. There are a zillion festivals and events happening throughout the year. Its just so culturally rich after all and i am sure you can experience something good no matter what time of the year you go and where.
  6. Last but not the least its one heck beautiful. A natural wonder i would say with everything from golden beaches, to sparkling seas to shining glaciers to rocky mountains to picturesque lakes to gently rolling hills, it has it all. Every region is like a perfect postcard, be it the sweeping hillside vineyards and medieval villages in Tuscany or the lake view of camo or the skyline of venice or the streets of sardinia or the stylish people of milan or the crystal clear water of sicily,  there is actually no region less than the other.

Have you been to Italy, please share your experience.

Thank you for stopping by. See you with my next.
