Hey everyone

Its not just a UK thing to talk about the weather, it is a Delhi thing too because this city i tell you really struggles with it. Its not even mid may and the temperatures are already above 40 degrees celsius, by 10 am its already so hot that I do not want to step out. Ok enough cursing the Delhi weather lets start with  todays post, shall we, i am sharing 4 events i went to and loved after this post

Malibu C hair treatment launch in India- Malibu C is a revolutionary life changing hair care treatment made in USA, comes in bottled form and can work on all hair types. It is 100% vegan and cruelty free liquid that restores the wellness of the hair that has been robbed by the minerals and chemicals present in the hard water that 80% of the world showers with. Hard water mineral build-up on the hair can be a trigger for issues such as hair that lacks movement or body/bounce, lackluster locks, highlights that seem to "disappear" just a couple weeks after leaving the salon, hair colour fading, poor grey coverage, just to name a few. The Malibu C Wellness Hair Care has the ability to rectify all of the issues, and more! The service takes quite sometime around 2 hours but the results are well worth the time. Been around 2 weeks that i got it done and my hair feels quite soft and shiny. You can avail this service at Neu Salonz all across the country.

Canaan skincare- Canaan is a range of skin care products filled with the goodness of dead sea coming all the way from Isreal. Dead sea getting its name from the fact that there is no life in it, no life is possible in this 50km long water body which is actually a river because the concentration of salt is 10 times higher as compared to others. Its really a gift that humans do not sink, i am sure some of you must have seen pictures of people reading newspaper, floating in the dead sea. I am so pumped to do go there now!! Anyways dead sea also has a 50 times higher concentration of a mineral called ‘Bromide’ and only 10% sodium chloride. Now Sodium chloride is the salt that makes you dehydrated after you come out of sea water (95 %sodium chloride) anywhere else in the world, and Bromide is the good mineral that relaxes you when you are in sea water. Canaan minerals has all therapeutic properties of the dead sea, i got a pedicure done and trust me and my words my feet felt as light as air. It was literally the best thing ever. At the moment meni- pedi and body polishing can be done at any of the Tony and guy salons across India. I had a great experience at the Toni and Guy Vasant Vihar Delhi.

Chique spring summer 17 collection launch- Chique introduced a special lightweight cotton fabric with a sheen that can work as evening wear as well, the fabric is handwoven and completely weightless like you are wearing air, great for the unforgiving indian summers. The prints at Chique are bought in Paris and are totally exclusive and i must say they are really gorgeous and in tandem with the global market showing the great eye the team has. They have kaftans, tunics, shirts and the likes. I would really like to mention their hand woven trousers that are so comfortable that you could wear them the whole day and also sleep in them. Also very good looking and i am totally going to get one soon. That said they also have a beach collection, nice coverups and beach dresses, i got myself a beachy white dress/ coverup and can’t wait to wear it soon. There is a trip coming up very soooooooon so stay tuned on my instagramChique collection can be shopped online as well as at their stores in Greater Kailash part 1, Defence Colony, Rajouri Garden and Kamla Nagar in Delhi.

Palmers - World famous skin and hair care brand palmers has arrived in India. The launch started with a presentation by the middle east and beyond head Antoina Brown giving all the insights about the brand followed by many fun activities drinks and lunch at Tabullah beach cafe Khel Gaon marg. Palmers is present in over 80 countries and is the #1 Cocoa butter brand in the world. It has strong presence in important market segments such as skin care, pregnancy, skin fade care, and hair care thanks to its various brand ranges such as Skin Success, Shea Butter Formula, Olive Butter Formula, Coconut Oil Formula, Olive Oil Formula and Hair Success. I have been using their Skin therapy face oil for about 2 weeks now and i must say it is everything it claims. Comes in a convenient to use clear glass packaging. I apply it after cleaning my face with the natio scrub, 2-3 drops are enough for the entire face, although an oil its non greasy contains natural cocoa butter retinol and vitamin c. I could see the difference on my skin after just using for 3-4 days, my skin looks nourished and the uneven skin tone a lot better. I will 100% recommend it from my experience till now and will also do a full review after a month. Palmers is available on Flipkart and Amazon.

It was a pleasure speaking to the designer who very happily took me through her new collection talking about the chikankari embroidery and zardosi embroidery she is very passionate about. Loved the new pret collection ‘Defiance’ in my favourite soft colours and also friendly on the pocket.

Hey everyone

Healthy nails are a girls dream, unnecessary chipping or lack of shine or not growing well are some problems that i have faced in the past and i am sure most of us do. Thankfully there are quite a few easy ways to address those issues that need just a few humble ingredients from our kitchen and today i am sharing some that have helped me and girls in my family to have beautiful nails.

nail care tips, debelle gel nail lacquer, natural nail product, gel nail polish india, debelle gel nail polish india, seaweed extracts, rising star of india, beautiful nail tips, care for nails, nail home remedies, debelle review, debelle nail polish review, spring summer nail care, top indian blog, indian fashion blogger, indian lifestyle blogger, uk blog, london blog

  1. The Oils - as our nail is made of keratin and protein its almost the same as our hair so massaging oils like Olive oil, Coconut oil, Vitamin E oil for 5 mins works wonders to improve the strength and lusture of nails.
  2. The Vitamins - Specially great for nails are vitamin C, E, A and H also called Biotin. So make sure your intake is good. Another great tip is to soak the nail in warm Orange/ Lemon juice for 10 mins and then wash and pat dry. You can do this daily and till you start seeing results.
  3. The Diet- Of course, our skin, nails and hair are a reflection of what we take inside.  For nails specially worth mentioning are foods rich in vitamins mentioned above and fatty acids, Foods like fish, flaxseed, avocado are great. Also to cure white spots on nails caused by Zinc and calcium deficiencies eat nuts, meat, yoghurt, etc. For Biotin eat eggs, tomatoes, walnut, salmon, etc.
  4. Drink and drink as much water as you can for glossy beautiful nails.
  5. The care- Use good quality nail products that are free of harmful chemicals, formaldehyde etc and promote nail growth and beauty. I can’t stress enough how important this is as bad quality products not only dry the nails, making them brittle but also suck away the shine and the natural pink colour. Talking of quality products that promote good nails, i am very happy to share with you, DeBelle    gel nail lacquer that has seaweed extracts which promote and maintain beautiful nails.

Packaging- Its super cute, very practical, glass cylindrical shape bottle and the brush is a great size, not too big nor small.

Ingredients- Natural ingredients with seaweed extracts.

Colours- French Affair (Red), Royale’ Cocktail (Turquoise Blue), Bebe’ Kiss (Baby Pink), Mystique Green (Pastel Green), Moulin Rouge (Marron), Miss Bliss (Pink), Princess Belle’ (Coral Orange), Majestique Mauve (Mauve), Mint Amour (Mint Blue).

Price- INR 295/- for 8 ml

Buy- DeBelle cosmetic, Flipkart, Amazon.

Formula- Gel.

My experience- It was very easy to apply, quite thick as compared to other gel polishes and i could get a great colour in just 2 quotes, very opaque and shiny. I do a lot of cooking and my hands are in and out of water many times for household chores but it lasted very well, no chipping till 3 days without any topcoat, that is major!!!! I mostly don’t wear nail paints because 1. difficult to maintain 2. my nails become dull if i wear them continuously or remove them after many days, in this regard i have to say that i removed the DeBelle polish after 10 days and my nails were fine i think it has to do with the sea weed which is a natural marine algae that is great for the health of nails, of course i still have to see the long term results but from what i read if you use products with sea weed over a long period your nails become stronger and shinier, will keep you posted with the long term results!!!

Hey everyone

Embroidery has literally taken the fashion world by storm and i am obsessed. Be it on clothes or shoes i am loving it all! As times have changed, machine embroidery has become popular because it is faster and cost effective and almost 90% of the the embroidery that you see is done by machines but hand embroidery has its special charm and appeal. For traditional indian outfits its nothing new, they are almost the backbone of indian wedding clothes. Lighter versions on indian kurtis/ tunics make them also wearable for day to day and i personally much prefer the embroidered ones over the printed. Today we are going to talk a bit about the various types of embroideries that we see in general.

india rush, kurtis, online kurtis, designer kurtis

Thread embroidery
This is the most common one done by hand and actually also easy to do. Florals, leaves and simpler patterns woven by simple needle and thread on any fabric. Love the simpler versions on designer kurtis done on the sleeves or neckline or just as a thin border at the bottom.

Mirror work
Mirrors of any size are fixed on to fabric with colorful threads, off late the mirrors have been replaced by reflective metal. There is a debate as to where mirror work originated, some say it was brought to India by the mughals but surprisingly it was not found on the clothes of the mughal rulers?? Some say it originated in the Indian states of Gujarat, Rajasthan and Haryana where it is the most popular. Extensively used on wedding lehngas and sarees almost everywhere, it is also a huge trend on tops and dresses at the moment. On kurtis a sprinkling of mirror work on the body or just on the yolk looks beautiful while keeping them wearable for day to day.

Cut work
Cut work as the name suggests involves cutting out the interiors of a pattern and then embroidering the raw edges either the same colour or mostly white. This one is great in case you do not like much work or embellishment.

Zardosi embroidery
Zardosi originated in Persia and literally means embroidery with gold, beautiful patterns are created by either sewing embellishments or stitching with metallic threads. In ancient times it was mostly the virtue of the super rich to wear zardosi as it was so expensive for obvious reasons, made from gold. Today its one of the most popular embroideries in INDIA, PAKISTAN, IRAN and adjoining countries. No brides trousseau is complete without a saree or suit in this rich embroidery.

Chikan embroidery
This is my favourite of all, easily have about 5-6 Chikan work kurtis in my wardrobe. Originating from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh india, Chikankari , the art of Chikan is mostly done on thin light fabrics like cotton, silk, pure georgette, etc. Starts with printing a pattern on the fabric then stitchinging on the pattern followed by multiple washes that ensures no shrinkage or colour bleed. Traditionally the embroidery was in white on soft pastel or plain white fabrics but now coloured threads are used as well. It is very intricate involving around 32 different types of stitches, a pure work of art.

I am soon doing a post on some of my latest favourite embroidered pieces on the high street so stay tuned for that!

Thank you for stopping by! See you in my next one.

Hey everyone

I guess its human to have a bad day, no matter how well prepared, we still have them so here are 6 easy tips to help you when you are having one of those days

Schedule- Because when you know what you have to do at what time you do more and achieve more. Having a course for your day has direct relation to productivity. Prevention is better than cure.

Me time- If you are having a bad day just take a few mins off, go out in the fresh air stretch or walk around and if you are at home take a bath or go offline relax with a book or tea basically just switch off from what you are doing.

Spend time with family or friends or kids- Sometimes we don’t feel like it but from my personal experience spending time with my loved ones always recharges my batteries. Listening to how our loved ones spent their day or their experiences or stories from the day /days takes my mind off my struggles/ worries.

Nutrients rich food- Try to eat fresh and wholesome food rich in vitamins and anti oxidants to keep your mind and body healthy. I have noticed a direct relation between food and my mood. Too much fried and empty calorie food makes me irritable and sluggish.

Nature-  Go to the park or your garden just be alone with nature and you will automatically start to feel better. If working from home try to work from a room with natural light. I can literally not function in a space with no natural light. It depresses me 100%. No matter how dim but still just being able to look at the sky keeps my mind in a much better state.  If working from a naturally lit room is not possible go out in the open as often as you can and breathe in the fresh air. Also try walking to you destination or keeping your windows open as much as possible.

Indulge- Its ok to let it go with your favourite desert or reruns of your favourite show!!!

Hey everyone

With winters comes the great task of taking care of woolens and the most important and daunting task is washing, I am always scared to wash my woolens as many many times in the past they have come out deformed. Thankfully for the last two years I have been following a process of washing which is working 100%, also thanks to my uncle’s great tips who is in the dry cleaning business, so today I thought of sharing it here but before that i want to share a story, In the first winter after my sisters marriage her mom in law asked her if she knew how to wash woollens and she very easily said yes, thinking whats the big deal, so she was given the responsibility to wash her father in laws favourite sweater, to everyones horror it came out half its size as i used the normal soap to wash!!!!! Now to the tips:

Hand wash/ dry clean- it's fine to hand wash unless the wash care instruction says dry clean only.

What to wash woollens with- This is really the main deal, powder detergents no matter how expensive contain soda which is very corrosive and robs off colour and style from our favorite woolens  and after losing many of my favourite knits in the wash I was quite frightened by the thought of washing my woolens,  luckily my dear uncle came to my rescue and suggested Godrej Ezee, and since then woolen care has been a breeze, the packaging is very convenient  to use and store and there are many easy to choose size options,  Ezee being a zero soda formula cleans gently and the new Godrej Ezee is pH neutral in built fabric conditioner that gives woolens a very pleasant fragrance, is even better. Good aroma is very important as our mind associates good smell as clean and fresh and also of course it also helps in easy storing of woolens. I literally swear by their tagline 'Ragdo mat, take it ezee'

How to wash woollens- Soak the woollens in a bucket of cold water add some GodrejEzee and then rinse gently after 30 mins.
After wash- Never wring or hang your woolens or the weight of the water will make them loose their shape. Just lay them flat on a towel and gently squeeze the water and then lay flat to dry in shade.

Ironing- if not needed, not ironing is better but if you have to make sure the iron setting is changed to wool.
