I am a fan of braids, keep my hair in a braid 8/10 times. It has been the one single idea that has helped me easily care and keep my hair sane and sorted to a greater extent. Well it was not the case always, just like any other girl i loved to keep my hair open, sometimes curled and sometimes straight. And only became a fan of braids last to last year. Also because my hair was longer than it ever was and i was experiencing more tangles, hair fall and just usually very high maintenance demands. It was more of a necessity to find a more practical and easy solution to keep my hair under control. Having said that braids are not just for long hair it works for medium length equally well. And today i am sharing the reasons why braids are great idea for hair care.
- Braids prevent hair tangles and hair breakage.
- Braiding is an extremely economical proposition. It saves time in terms of the number of times you have to wash your hair. Which translates to less shampoo, conditioner and the likes use and also less water.
- Braids will help you grow your hair, mine is proof.
- Braids need less hair styling products and no hot tools so a winner on those fronts.
- There are a zillion braids to try, one for almost every occasion.
- You also have less need to comb hair. Combing causes friction and damage.
Ever since childhood i have seen my mother either keep her hair in a braid or a bun. Her hair was twice as much as mine when she was my age. So i obviously see what she does and take her advice on anything hair related. Me, my sister and mom also have occasional discussions over tea on everything hair from what oils work best to interesting braids to try to the latest styling tools to hair transplant costs to favourite hairstyle spotted by celebrities. The hairstyle in the picture is actually a product of those discussions, nostalgia.
Do you like to braid your hair? Hope i gave you some reasons why you must consider braids as part of your hair care.
Thank you for stopping by, see you with my next.
Love
Chichi

ReplyDeleteI like to have my hair braided but I never really learned to braid. I can barely give myself a single braid so usually it ends up in a bun. Reading this is inspiring me to practice more though:-)
ReplyDeleteBraids are all-time hair style that never runs out of fad. It's great to see modern artists coming up with new braiding techniques each time.

ReplyDeletelove this! Braids are great aren't they? I have a daughter with the longest hair, so they are essential for overnight so we can avoid all the tangles :) x
ReplyDeleteYou have gorgeous hair! My girls have hair down to their bottoms and I braid it every night to protect it as they sleep!
ReplyDeleteYour hair is absolutely gorgeous! I do love braids but my hair is too short. I often plait my daughters hair though x
ReplyDeleteIf it was for braids I wouldn't be able to manage my afro, I always braid it as it keeps my hair tangle free and easier to manage.

I have so much respect (and envy) for people who can braid their hair. I just can't get the hang of it. It looks so lovely though, I suppose practice makes perfect.

Your hair is beautiful! I always braid my girls' hair but do mine less since cutting it to shoulder length last year. I am growing it back now though so as it gets longer I am finding it easier to braid again. I can only really do french braids and fishtail plaits though. I need to learn some more styles really as I love braids!
ReplyDeleteI used to always wear my hair up in a bun, then for a while I had them in braids. Now I wear it mostly down. :-)
ReplyDeleteI have quite long hair so i love braiding my hair, not only does it look cute but it keeps it all together! xo
